On Friday Dennis Haskins, Mr. Belding from the 90s hit Saved by the Bell will be at Peoria Chiefs Stadium for Teacher Appreciation Night! He will throw out a first pitch and sign autographs

You know you're going to that game now.

Do we have a roster somewhere?

Acosta and Malave each went 0-4 with a K. Marcano was 0-2 with a walk. Junior Lake has a walk tonight, so that's good at least.

No, probably won't see an official one until Tuesday (though names will likely filter out Monday). Anyways, any official roster right now would likely not be accurate - a few of the college seniors who were drafted might sign quick enough to get a quick orientation in Mesa over the weekend in time to ship off to Boise for their opening day.

I don't think these were posted on here.

Javier Baez grounded out 5-3 in his first at bat (first pitch swinging).

Rhee was just fine through 3, gave up 2 unearned in the 4th but thus far has given up 4 runs on one hard hit ball in the 5th (BB, fly out, bunt single, IF single, grand slam HR). Still only 1 out. ETA: Rhee gave up a few more singles and one more run in this rough 5th. 5 IP, 9 H, 7 R, 5 ER, 1 BB, 0 K. His strikeout rate has plummeted in the past month - 23 Ks in 26.1 April innings but only 9 Ks in 36.2 innings in May and June.

Damn. I really like Rhee too. Noticed his K numbers weren't high recently, but had no idea the streak was that bad or that long.

vitters walk

And Rizzo got out trying to stretch a single to a double. Vitters walking and Rizzo trying to flex his speed.....2 things that don't happen often.

Should I begin my annual ranting about how much I want to move out of the FSL?

Has anybody seen Jensen lately, or have any current scouting observations about him? I'm not talking about what we heard last summer at draft, or last fall in instrux. I'm guessing he's evolving a big during this first season, so I'm wondering what the report is now when he's maybe tired after a dozen starts and 60+ innings and might not be throwing quite as hard as when April opens or during instrux.

He's got a 2.32 ERA, with 2HR/23(?)BB/66IP, 1.6 G/A. Those are solid HR and K numbers. His K's have been modest, but in two of his last three starts he's been 8K/6IP and today 7K/5IP. I'm kind of hoping that some breaking ball is emerging as an improved knockout pitch.

My guess is that he's probably been exploring and adjusting. In JC, fastball was pretty dominant and he probably didn't need perfect location. In April, hitters never hit much or show much power, so perhaps he used the same fastball-heavy challenge-them approach to good effect. But then maybe after a couple of weeks with warmer weather that wasn't working quite so well. But maybe now he's tightened his command some, tightened his breaking ball some, less willing to challenge down the middle and nibbling more for the edges to good effect? I'm just speculating. Maybe he's mixing in a cutter or something, I have no idea.

Logan Watkins with a walkoff single for Tennessee, as they win 8-7. They also had 14 hits as a team....all singles.

Junior Lake went 3-3 with a sac fly and his first walk in a long long time.

Jae-Hoon Ha went 3-5. He's hitting 13-32 with 6 walks in his last 8 games. Unfortunately though, only 2 XBHs over the time. .406/.500/.469 line.

Lots of good pithing today on the farm, especially Peoria. Jensen was great. Cervenkas been very good since coming over. Never heard of Felix Pena until now, but great night for him too.

Speaking of PTBNL from the Red Sox, what's the deal with the 1st baseman whose name eludes me we ended up with in the Theo trade? Mesa?

Baez HBP.

BTW, Baez apparently stole a base after this.
