Dustin Geiger to Peoria, Ryan Cuneo to the Peoria DL.

Apparently there is going to be gameday for the Peoria game today. However, it's 7:42 and it still hasn't started.

Listening online. Dunno why, just in the mood.

Concepcion's first inning went BB, BB, FO, K, GO.

Side note: is it the Chiefs' radio PBP guy that posts here sometimes? He's really good. Very polished for A-ball.

Concepcion walked the first two batters he faced, and then retired 11 in a row with 3 Ks. He just broke the streak with a full-count walk where he almost got the called third strike at least once.

Yay.

dsl cubs 2 blew up and won 17-2. good days for the 6-figure and 7-figure guys who played: luis acosta 2-5, triple, bb, 2 k, 5 rbi; mark malave 2-5, bb, k, error; pedro araujo 5 ip, 5 h, 1 er, 1 bb, 5 k. delbis arcila is off to a good start; i remember having some interest in him last year just based on his numbers, but he's 19 and in his third season there, so maybe they don't think he's much.

dsl cubs 1 won 5-2. only bonus guy (at least using raisin's post about who received bigger bonuses) who saw action was f. sanchez, ss: 0-3 with a walk and error. some 17 year old 1b is off to a good start. pitchers were standouts: d. adrian (21 years old, so meh): 4 ip, 1 h, 1 er, 2 bb, 6 k. then some 17 year old lefty (jose paulino) came on and had a monster game: 4 ip, 2 h, 1 r, 0 er, 0 bb, 10 k.

Concepcion comes out for the sixth. IF single, IF single, K.

Leaves with his line as 5.2 IP, 2 H, 4 BB, 4 K, no runs yet but responsible for two on base.

Not a bad outing. Still hasn't shown what made him a $9 million/MLB contract kind of guy, but he's settling in.

I thought it was like 6 or 7.

The 20-year-old is guaranteed $6 million in the deal. There is a $3 million signing bonus, with the other $3 million spread out over the length of the contract.

"With any Cuban guy there is an assimilation process. It's going to take some time, both socially and baseball-wise, so we don't want to put undo expectations on a guy that does need to assimilate to our culture.''

Asked Chiefs manager about Concepcion's slow start, said he's really working on his FB, if he threw just CH & SL, he'd dominate low-A

That's very interesting.

That makes me feel a lot better. True or not, it gives me something to grasp on.
