@Buster_ESPN

Since the start of July, Clayton Kershaw has allowed more than one run in an inning once.

@BMcCarthy32

@Buster_ESPN he knows. You don't have to rub it in.

He tried to pull a ball from the glove of a fielder, that's going to get you ejected 1000% of the time.

I mean the ball was hit right at him, it's not like he was leaning over the railing, I think that's pretty [expletive]

But he didn't just try to catch the ball, he tried to take it out of the glove of a player.

i dunno

when i first watched it i got the impression that he wasn't fully aware he was wrestling a player for the ball and was just kind of instinctively acting like someone trying to catch a ball would act...then he kind of wakes up and realizes it's the actual baseball player and hes like oh [expletive] and backs off.

i probably see it the other way now upon rewatching

Anybody who instinctively fights that hard for a foul ball should be ridiculed and shamed. Add in the fact that he was in the front row in a Boston hat with nobody in front of him but players then there is absolutely no excuse.

I got some nice incredulous responses on the Illinois board when I disputed that Molina was a 1st ballot HOFer if he retired tomorrow.

Saying Lou Brock probably didn't belong either really set them off.

it's not like gonzalez caught it and then the dude reached in and grabbed it, they both had the ball at the same time, wrestled for a couple seconds then he stopped.

And again, any douchebag wrestling for a foul ball should be ridiculed and shamed in the first place. He knew he was in the front row and that players with gloves could get in the way. The fact that the wrestling lasted any time at all is absurd. Most fans who get in the way just have the ball snagged right in front of their eyes. It takes a special kind of douche to grab onto the glove and try and rip it apart.

While I don't think Molina is a HOFer, I do think his career will be understated in the mainstream. Molina, especially in his prime, is the best defensive catcher I've ever seen by leaps and bounds. That includes guys like Ausmus, Matheny, Ivan Rodriguez, Charles Johnson, Alomar Jr, Benito Santiago, Mauer, and Molina's brothers. He came into the league that way too, right away he was an impact defender at that position.

Bully for him. Not a HoFer.

You think Yadier Molina's career will be understated in the mainstream? Have you not read anything in the mainstream about him? The mainstream loves Yadier Molina!

Samardzija got pummeled for 10 runs tonight. He now has a 5.27 ERA overall and a 7.48 ERA since the AS break.

Yeah, I think he'll be getting that big contract.

He's been a little feast or famine this year.

Yeesh. K% at 18.0%. Ground-ball rate under 40%. He's been made to look worse by the defense playing behind him and the park he's playing in. But, he's also just been a lot worse. And he's on the wrong side of 30. Good thing he didn't accept our extension offer.

For the "we should wait til we're clear division favorites to make a big trade for an impact player" crowd

I'd take him at 3/30, guessing he'll go for the 1 year deal though.

I wonder if he'll just take the QO and/or if the White Sox even extend it to him?
