That sign guy is up there for worst person in the world. I mean, you've got genocidal dictators, greedy investment bankers, cable company phone reps, then him. When the Cubs come to town he busts out his Cardinals Bartman jersey, which he updates each year(the number is now 105). He also has dozens of those signs that he stands and displays at every opportunity.

Yeah, but imagine when we're actually motivated to care even half as much as this bozo does.

He is the epitome of what it is to be a Cardinals fan.

That sign is the epitome of why I can't stand Cardinal fans. Even in the rare moment that they give a compliment to something out of their organization, they still find a way to suck themselves off in the process. Irritating as hell.

That's a good read. Meanwhile, more fun with arbitrary end points in Houston...

So Rick Reilly wrote a letter to Jeter's unborn kids (I'm not linking it because it doesn't deserve hits) telling them how great a player their father was and what not. An actual line from the article "He was the best player in baseball for a good 10 years straight." WTF, I think even the biggest Yankee/Jeter fan on earth will admit he was not the best player in MLB for "a good 10 years straight."

He was hilarious, but he didn't want you to know it. In his final goodbye season of 2014, I asked, "Who would you cross the street to avoid?"

"You," he said.

Reilly said without a hint of irony

Why do writers think this guy is so good?

I haven't heard a good word said about Reilly in more than a decade, so I dunno.

I've definitely seen high praise for the guy by other writers within the past few months. They worship him like he was the Jeter of their industry.

After the deadspin stuff, I can't imagine why anyone would take him seriously. He probably should have been fired, but I'm sure he has some giant buyout or something.
