UVA goes down to FSU

*pop*

Eh, they are still set up to play NC State or UNC in the second round of the ACC tournament. If they win that, they've got 5-6 wins against tournament teams, including one over a likely #1 seed. Not sure they are done, yet.

Is UK going to get a bid?

would be kinda crazy since they have 1 top 50 win (at home vs terrible on the road mizzou). they don't really have any unforgiveable losses though.

virginia is the craziest at large candidate ever. seven 100+ rpi losses plus a loss to fsu (87) tonight. their rpi isn't even that respectable after tonight either (71).

I bet they still get in though. It's coach cal and UK. I won't believe they are out until I see it.

They lost at home to A&M before Nerlens went down for the season. With the way we've crapped the bed lately that has to be seen as a pretty bad loss.

yeah, i feel pretty good about iowa st staying ahead of the teams outside of the bubble now (uk, umass, ole miss, virginia, so miss). i just think it's going to be tough for them to jump the teams in front of them (la salle, nova, cal, boise st). i think there's a decent gap between those that are in right now and those that are out.

which means i'm really rooting for no upsets in the mvc, sec, etc.

lol minnesota

If they complete this loss, and then lose to Nebraska on Thursday......nah they are probably still safe. 20-12 (8-10) with a first round loss to a bad Nebraska team looks sketchy but their SOS and RPI (however flawed) is too good right?

They are just shockingly awful in games of consequence. 0-5 in games decided by 10 or fewer points.

I argued earlier that they were as good as IU. Is it too late to take that back?

They won't play Nebraska on Thursday, they're behind Purdue in the standings. This sets up Illinois to play Nebraska regardless of their result tomorrow now.

I hope you have that right, but on several Illinois boards they have it differently.

Actually, Purdue would win the 3 way tiebreaker since they won the only meeting with Minnesota.

EDIT: Which would put Illinois and Minnesota in the 8-9 game.

I watched about 5 minutes of the UCLA-Washington game, during which Shabazz Muhammad tried to strip his own man of the ball and hasn't passed it once.

Marquette led St. John's by 9 with 1:50 to play and now St. John's leads by 2 a minute into overtime, keeping Mizzou's game off my TV. My loathing of Buzz Williams continues.

What do you expect out of a guy averaging less than an assist a game?
