Are we talking about Lewis Jackson? Did anyone on here ever think he was an Illinois lock? I never wanted him, I'm not a fan of guys his size unless they are top 30 good.

Anya to NC State.

How in the hell is Gotfried recruiting like this?

For Anya, NC State was literally the only team still recruiting him. Indiana dropped out a couple weeks ago, so he didn't really have a choice unless he waited for other teams to recruit him.

Why do you think those teams stopped recruiting him? We know IU didn't stop due to scholarship limits.

Oh, I never thought he was a lock to us. Just a couple of guys on loyalty did, guys who have sources within the program. Which makes me think we were very close.

IU stopped recruiting him because they wanted to put all their focus on Vonleh, I think. I'm not sure about the other teams. Maybe they all knew he was a NC State lean.

Bazz reinstated. :)

Is he gonna just be ok with the missed games? If the latest report about the biasedness of the NCAA is true on his case, can he seek legal retribution?

What do you mean by the first question?

I doubt he'll seek any retribution. He'll play out the season and head to the NBA. I bet he wouldn't have done much even of it was a bigger suspension.

I meant I think it's crap he missed any games at all. So is he ok with missing those games?

Oh, gotcha. I'm guessing he won't mind it since it won't really hurt UCLA's season or his chances in the draft.

It the NCAA dragged a lot longer, I was worried he'd end up dropping out and preparing for the draft.

The UCLA/IU game (assuming it happens Tuesday) should be pretty good. Georgia doesn't look to be very good at 1-2 with losses to 2 mid-major conference teams, at least 1 of them at home. UCLA should be the first legit team IU sees and they also have some size inside and the ability to match (or surpass) IUs athleticism on the perimeter. Oladipo vs. Muhammad should be a fun matchup to watch, though I'd imagine Watford gets the assignment a lot too.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves - UCLA has to beat Georgetown first. I'm sure Bazz makes them a lot better but they had to go to overtime to beat UCI last week.

Is the Illinois/Hawaii game on TV anywhere in the Chicago area? I tried watching the University of Hawaii web stream, but it keeps buffering and timing out.

Wow, stole a win there. Glad they didn't give up.

Well Illinois won in a place with the toughest home court advantage in the country year in, year out, so they've got that going for them, even if Hawaii isn't very good.

I'm not sure how they won that game. They were out rebounded by 20 and shot like crap. That was a very lucky win. Hopefully they got a bad one out of the way and play well in the Maui.

Kendall Stephens? I know you didn't 'want' Jay Simpson. It's obviously an uphill battle to pull Illinois kids from downstate. We're hard after KBD, Finke, and some other Illinois kids.

Didn't Kendall decide after Malcom Hill verballed to us? Plus it's gonna get harder for you to come in now being as our current coach is much more highly regarded as a recruiter.

Nope, Kendall committed in early 2011. Obviously, he's a legacy so that helped. It's never going to be easy. Illinois hasn't pulled anyone from Indiana in the last decade.

Ok, how does that matter in relation to KBD? Did he move to indiana?

Just stating that its already tough odds to pull a kid from someone else's backyard.

Acting like Purdue won some great recruiting battle for Stephens is a bit of an overreach. There was never a chance he was going anywhere but Purdue. Illinois was interested because of Weber's relationship with Stephen's dad, but we were never in a position to make it close.

Stop being so sensitive, I said he was a legacy. He asked if Purdue had gotten a kid out of Illinois that Illinois wanted recently and they have. Being a legacy is no lock anyway. Purdue didnt get Gary Harris or GRobIII.

Apparently the Michigan Rivals website is saying KBD to Michigan this coming week.

That guy also said to Illinois last week. I don't think he knows anything.

Too bad IU isn't in on him. Rabjohns would be living in KBDs garage.

Iowa is down 20 to Gardner-Webb at halftime. I'm just going accept that we aren't making the tourney this year.

They came back and won. Thank God.

I don't think you'll make it this year, but I'm assuming you will going forward after this.

Nevermind. He just committed to Ohio State. Strike one John Groce.

Wow, I thought you were joking at first.

No, he overreacts that much all the time.
