However, stuff that happened before World War 2, before the NCAA Tournament even existed, is not too remote in time. It's, um, interesting.

 

Probably learned it from Kansas.

Oh come on, they were voted on as champs years after the season happened. Those should count. :roll: The Helms committee is so dumb. I get schools like Purdue and even Illinois embracing them. It's all we got. But Kansas has real championships, why the need to claim fake ones?

 

Except we don't embrace it.

 

It's a recruiting tool you dumbasses. Who cares if the fans of schools who've never won anything get all indignant over it?

I'm saying you don't need it, your history speaks for itself without adding it. Dumbass.

I'll be bitchy, but I'm oddly content with this season at this point. I thought we'd be lucky to get a 4 seed and make the sweet 16. We got a two, and we've gotten as far as I thought we would. NC State has some talent. If we lose to them, I won't be overly surprised.

It's a shame for Brady Morningstar this league didn't take off.

 

Is that one funded by the Kroenkes or the Lauries?

Why didn't his dad use the ticket fund money to sponsor it? Did he already spend it on his other son?

The wolfpack are talented, but they believe they are better than they are. And they are playing with that mentality thanks to Gottlieb. Win or lose, I've never been more excited or proud to be an NC state fan. With 3 McDonalds All-Americans coming in next year the future seems bright.

I ridiculed State hiring Gottfried this summer, but he could not have had a better first year. The difference between this year's and last year's CJ Leslie is incredible.

 

What's the latest on Torian Graham?

No news lately. Last I heard he was impressed with the changes (gross understatement) after watching his first State basketball game in a year last month. I'm still hopeful.

88-89 the Big Ten was as good as it's ever been and Knight won it with Jay Edwards and a bunch of rec league guys. That was Knights best job ever IMO.

 

Agreed. I still marvel at the job Knight did in 1989. Illinois was ridiculous that year; so was Michigan. Both clearly, obviously had better rosters than IU (one won the title, another made the Final Four).

Iowa was loaded that year as well. Preseason number one I think. Knight killed it.
