Patriots will select... Janoris Jenkins.

He got some big issues, but Pats REALLY need help in the secondary. He got way too much talent to pass up here.

Been hearing Jenkins won't even go in the first due to his size as well as his character issues. Isn't he like 5'8 190 soaking wet? That said, he's got unbelievable recovery speed and should be able to run with anyone.

5'10" 193 at the combine... I see the character issues making him fall to the 2nd, but he's not THAT short. It'll hurt him with some of the tall WRs, but he's so good at coverage that I don't think it'll affect him that much. Basically... If Jenkins didn't have those character issues, he would AHEAD of Claiborne IMO.

Yeah I think the best pure cover guy in this draft. Don't remember the last cancer the Bradychicks had, but if they like his size and the character isn't an issue then it's a great pick.

I'm glad I took Barron because he's a really obvious Pats pick. Would you have considered him if he fell so far? Would have hated to see him on the Ravens or Pats when the Jets basically have one starting caliber safety on the roster.

Here's the thing... McCourty is 5'11 190 and Chung is 5'11 210. So I don't think his size is an issue for the Pats. The character issue is a HUGE concern, but it seems like he's owning up to it. If it's true and genuine, then I would take that chance on him, esp in late 1st.

Yeah I would've gone after Barron over Jenkins as I think S is a slightly bigger need than CB (although both are BIG needs for the Pats along with a couple other positions, but the secondary really stands out. Gilmore was another guy I was "hoping" he would fall.

I figured it was a pipe dream that Janoris would fall to the Titans' pick in the second round. I too would have him in the top 5-10 picks without the character issues. I really like his talent.

Next 3 picks:

29. Ravens (WrigleyField22)

30. 49ers (Raisin)

31. Patriots (Splinter)

Again, if anybody isn't sure they'll be available to make the pick, shoot me a PM with your top 4 choices.

the packers take your dead grandfather who is gay

Can he play defense? If so, I'll take him.

Packers take DE/OLB Andre Branch out of Clemson. I think this is a decent start in a draft where defense will be the only focus imaginable for the Packers.

Glad I checked before I went to bed.

with pick 29 Ravens select:

Peter Konz, C/G, Wisconsin

http://isportsweb.com/wp-content/uploads//2011/11/Peter-Konz2.jpg

Comments: While there are a few defensive players Baltimore may have on their radar, they're all gone in this draft. Still Konz is a nice consolation prize, and this pick is becoming common around mock drafts around the net. He can step in immediately to help fill the void left by Grubbs at G and is a long term replacement for Birk.

pm'd Raisin for the 49ers.

After the 49er's its:

31. Patriots (Splinter)

32. Giants (jersey)

R2.1. Rams (Snayke)

Konz is an awesome C prospect. IMO with guys like Mangold and Mack as a prospect and th gap between DeCastro and him (or Glenn inside) is not that large at all. I had him to the Packers in a mock I made up last night. Can slide right into LG for the Ravens, who won't miss Grubbs as much.

Branch is a decent pick for the Packers.

Staley is a good T so I assume Davis is the odd man out at T? Rachal sucks so maybe he goes to G, Staley to RT, and Martin at LT?

Davis hasn't been very good, but he's young. I was wondering this too. I can't see SF passing him up this late in the 1st (Harbaugh connection) but was wondering what about Davis, who is only 2 years removed from a top 10 pick.

Patriots will select.... Devon Still

While there are others that I could pick here, Still was the BPA at a position of need for the Pats (DL). I kinda surprised he makes it this far.

I like the 2 picks I've made for the Pats in this mock draft. 2 guys with a LOT of talent, but with some concerns (Jenkins with character and Still with injuries/inconsistent). Both fill a big position of need and it's on defense. As everybody saw how horrible the D was last year, I would have to think they're going defense-defense with their 2 picks (if they don't trade one or both). I could see them getting someone like Konz or Martin with one of those picks though as nobody has a clue what Pats/BB will do with their pick. I think they can really max out the value of their picks by going defense early and getting the need on offense (mainly interior OL or raw/developmental type WR since the corp is aging, but still be good for a couple years) later in the draft.

I'd move Staley but Davis is the one that 49er fans I know hate the most.

Can't pass on Martin this late in the 1st round, plus the Harbaugh-Stanford connection. And SF's offensive line isn't that great, despite the 1st rounders on it. They need WR and CB too, but Martin was too far ahead of the other players available at those positions.

I don't think I would want them to do this if I was a fan, but I will take the TE, Fleener at this spot. There's a couple other players I was thinking about but it keeps going to back to him.

The Rams and Formerly Snayke are on the clock. I PMd him.

Just curious... How many rounds are we going?

As many as we can or that people want to. If interest wanes after the 2nd or 3rd round, we'll stop there. Or if we finish a round a couple days before the draft, we'll stop there. It kind of depends.

We're past a day here, I don't know how autopick works, but I could see the Rams taking Michael Adams here. If not, they need DT help as well, so maybe Jerel Worthy or Brandon Thompson. If we vote, my vote goes to Adams.
