Hamilton relapses

1. I get why it's easy to root for Hamilton, but I could not possibly care less about the guy. It's bad enough that athletes are shoved down our throats as role models and/or significant people (and so very rarely the Steady Eddie type anyway), but to have it done to a former crackhead turned pro athlete? No thanks.

2. I am pretty ignorant of addiction. Is this THAT bad in the whole process that he's holding a press conference or is it because he's been told he's a role model? Are [expletive], lazy parents out there in a tizzy?

Otherwise though...g'luck to him. Just because I said this stuff doesn't mean I want the guy to go back to where he was in-between his pro baseball stops.

Everyone has had someone they know battle an addiction.

Does everyone who battles an addiction have to do it under the spotlight of news organizations pointing out each slip up?

Are you wondering why it's a big deal?

The guy pissed away all he had from his addiction, and then finally got his life back on track.

It's not a big deal because he speaks about addiction at churches. It's a big deal because one night out drinking for him could turn into weeks getting high on cocaine and whiskey.

For us baseball fans, his falling off the wagon could mean we miss out on watching him play the game. For him, it could literally mean life and death.

Or, maybe I'm just one of the ones overblowing the whole thing.

First I'd like to say I'm really happy my name doesn't feature "Theo" in any way, shape, or form.

I feel bad for the guy and hope its only another blip on the radar. I hate that his mishaps are there for the whole world to see. I get it comes with the territory, but God knows, I'd hate for the same to always apply to me.

Damn, he's not very good at falling off the wagon. If you're going to booze it up and bang a random skank, you gotta make it somewhat worth while. Sounds like he was blitzed out of his mind (jamming to the karaoke) so he probably doesn't remember that 5 minute ride anyway.

The former hard drug and alcohol addict who just relapsed for the second time in whatever amount of years PROBABLY didn't think it all out. Plus, there's the outside shot that the average looking woman had some kind of sex appeal that only works in her presence (like alcohol).

Is he married? I think that's the only way him getting laid that night is of any significance at all, but I realize that piling on is a pass time.

i'm not sure what is more depressing. that someone is so vulnerable to alcohol that when he relapses, he gets completely blitzed, forgets about his beautiful wife and kids and home and bangs some barfly in a bathroom, or that various people at the bar who were probably cognizant of his vulnerability, still enjoyed drinking/videotaping/having sex with him.
