again, what am I denying?

The only thing I've "defended" the Saints on is this idea that this is somehow unique and that the Saints are the most villainous super thugs ever in the NFL and would behead opposing players and put it on LiveLeak if they could.

Except nobody is making that argument so you "defending" against it is kind of stupid.

yeah, he's also prolific at straw-mans. his favorite defense seems to be "everyone else was doing it."

wait wha...

I've admitted multiple times on here that what they did was wrong. I just freaking did it in the post you quoted. I was the first person to post about it in this thread and said that I'm apparently "now a fan of a dirty team. Very disappointing."

I think Payton's suspension was excessive but I've absolutely never said the organization shouldn't get punished or that they didn't do anything wrong. They broke the rules. They deserved to get punished.

Yes, I know you've done that, so you can then go out and whine about unfair treatment of the Saints and then fall back to your "but look I said they were wrong before" nonsense.

yes, those posts were all part of a master plan cultivated by me over a month in advance for a spot just like this!

or...it could be that I think they violated the rules of the NFL and deserved to get punished as an organization, but that I think the punishment and the outrageous outrage of some people is excessive

It all boils down to politics and politically correct garbage.

Who cares what Gregg Williams said? He's pumping up his team and trying to get them out there to lay wood on the enemy.

Big deal.

It's a big deal. It's language that is far more specific and geared towards injury-causing violence than what I have heard before.

Maybe others are doing it too, but that doesn't make it right.

Also, you can't just thumb your nose at the commish. That's just the height of stupidity.

Hopefully ESPN will only air "Jacked Up" hits that were not influenced by pre-game locker room speeches, the worst kind.

Sadly they stopped that segment a year ago I think. Now they just do 'come on man'.

ESPN: We were for violence before we were against it.

Now NFL Films needs to go back and edit all the times it glorified monster hits in a cinematically breathtaking manner. Instead of Butkus crushing somebody's spleen, they can show him leading a prayer.

No, that would take away the glory days of yore for guys like me.

I need to be able to tell the younguns about the time when football was really cool. Aren't you jealous you were born too late?

wow, what a stupid post.

Anyways, I think this was the nail in the coffin for Williams. Goodell will never let him coach in the NFL again. That's for sure.

Yeah how stupid is it that NFL coaches for the last 40 years have been coaching up their teams to destroy and harm their opponents! All of a sudden it's a big problem? The NFL is violence in motion, the league has to accept that.

The focus seems to have shifted from Greg Williams putting money down for the hits and now to what he said in that audio recording.

I think Roger has made it plainly clear he will not accept that.

In related news, Butkus is now football's greatest monster for the jarring number of big hits that defined his career.
