I'm hoping for a couple closer, watchable games and I think we'll get 'em.

I'll go 24-20 Pats, and 27-20 Giants.

pretty wide open field

It's hard to believe that the 49ers are for real but they sure impressed on Saturday.

The Packers pretty much gifted that game to the Giants, the worst NFC team in the playoffs. Yet somehow they seem to win games like this.

On the AFC side, the Ravens defense isn't as dominant as it used to be but the Pats haven't played much defense all season. Stopping the Tebows doesn't convince me that they can but Flacco on his backo.

I can't believe the Pats are giving 7.5 points. That seems like 3.5 too many.

Prediction: Giants lose the superbowl to the Pats just to annoy us with the whole "Boston winning yet another championship" thing.

Sorta. They forced 5 or 6 turnovers and just barely won the game. I don't know if them not winning by 21+ points is a testament to Brees keeping the Saints in it or the Niners offense not being all that good. They do have a great defense though. Saints receivers were rarely open and every time a defender got to the ball carrier they arrived angry.

Picking Giants though. They seem to flourish in these type games.

If the 49ers win, they'll be the 11th different team from the NFC in the last 11 years to make the Super Bowl. The only teams who won't have made it in that timespan are the Cowboys, Redskins, Lions, Vikings, and Falcons (and looking over that list, the NFC would have a plausible chance to go 12 for 12 next year).

If the Patriots win, it will be the 9th straight appearance by the Patriots, Steelers, or Colts.

Whichever team wins, the AFC will have had only had 9 teams represented in the last 27 Super Bowls.

And the Falcons made it in 1998, so it's not been forever for them. The Vikings have made 2 NFC title games since 1998. LOL at the Lions, Cowboys, and especially the Redskins.

That's true. I forgot to mention one more-if the 49ers win, the NFC West will become the 1st division in football to have all their teams in a Super Bowl in this century. Of course, they haven't won one this century yet.

Well, I was wrong about that Under in the NE/Denver game, but it pretty much went the way I expected; you know, except for Brady throwing 6 TD's. Still only went over by 4 I think.

Green Bay losing was amazing.

I really like both dogs this weekend as I believe the NYG win outright in what should be a game that sees some scoring. Alex Smith really impressed me this week, is he really a legit QB option in this league now?? I've been pretty down on the Niners all year, so they could burn me once again but I just don't see them being able to score enough here. I like the better QB (in this case that's Eli most of the time). Both teams with crappy backup QB's if it came to that, but Carr probably a bit better than Kaepernick. NYG don't care about being on the road, we all know teams especially veteran ones have shown they can win on the road at this point in the season.

Don't know what to think of Pats at this point, they probably should win with Tom being at home but that 7.5 seems like a lot.

Should be fun, NE vs. Giants Super Bowl once again.

Eh, they weren't that far from the Falcons and Lions in advanced statistics. I just chalk it up to a team getting hot and catching some breaks.

If they catch any four of the eight passes they dropped the game is a lot closer and forces the Giants to throw more giving them the opportunity to turn the ball over.

I feel bad for actual Packers fans having to watch that. East coast bandwagon fans near where I live that had never heard of the packers before last January but suddenly have always bled Packer green, on the other hand, will be hearing about this for a long time.

I'm rooting for whoever comes out of the NFC whichever of them win. SF/Giants should be a very entertaining game.

And if the refs dont blow an obvious fumble call the Giants are winning by more.
