I've heard that usc's probationary status may also allow armond to play at an sec school right away..havent had time to research.

I've heard Auburn may be in play, though it's unclear what exception would apply (he had a medical redshirt, so he technically could apply for a 6th year in 2013). Maybe that's what his hearing was about last week. Seems Auburn must thing they can take him if he was visiting there this weekend. But I've heard he told Arik he'll play his last year at whatever school Arik chooses, which now will no longer be Cal. Proabably a 2-horse race with ND and Auburn.

This is interesting, Vance might be able to chime in.

The following comes from an unnamed source……..

About 3 hours before the game T-Bob Hebert, Russell Shepard, 2 other receivers and a hand full of linemen got into a heated argument with Les Miles and the Offensive Coordinator about Lee getting more playing time and possibly starting the BCS Championship game. It got so heated that Miles benched T-Bob, RS, and 3 other players. He called Lee into his office and told Lee that he would not be playing in the game. The Offensive CO told Miles that he thought that Lee gave the team the best chance to win the game. Miles told the OC to start looking for a new job after the game and Miles will be calling the plays for the championship game. Apparently the O Line sided with T-Bob and Lee. They did not give their all in the game to prove to Miles that the players are more important than the coach. Now I know that this is hard to believe but when you look at some things it kind of explains a few things: I will list some:

Playcalling: Read option pass on 3rd and 10 – 4 times. Running the same 5 plays over 90% of the game. Overall, Horrible play calling. Running the ball in the 4th quarter with 9 mins and down by 21. T-Bob Hebert not taking a snap in the game. RS only playing 3 snaps and not touching the ball or getting looked at. Lee getting off the bus and walking 10 feet behind the team with his head down and looking dejected while walking into the Dome. Heated argument between receivers and JJ and O Line with O line coach on sidelines. And the kicker, reports that 2/3 rds. of the plays that were practiced up to the game were not run and the players were not told why. Again I do not know if this is entirely true but there seems to be a lot of truth in it just by seeing what happened in the game.

The LSU team did not arrive at the dome until shortly after 6:00 PM. It seems that T-Bob Hebert & Russell Shepherd met with Les & told him that they were not happy with Jefferson’s preparation & attitude leading up to the game. He was purportedly at Harrah’s a couple of nights & drinking heavily. Most of the receiving corp has been on Miles to play Lee & throw more. Well Les evidently took the criticism the wrong way & all [expletive] broke loose at a team meeting. Hebert & Shepherd never got in the game. The offense was pissed. Jefferson lost the heart & soul of many of his teammates. Les was stubborn. Something evidently happened earlier between Miles & Lee & possibly Lee’s father after he was benched and Miles essentially dismissed him from the team for all practical purposes. Now not only is Claiborne leaving for the draft but so is Randle, Brockers & Shepherd (who may have no other choice but to leave LSU). Kadrone Boone ( a promising young receiver) has indicated that he will transfer from LSU. This is one of the worst internal problems that I have ever seen at LSU. This is not a black & white issue. It is an issue of team leadership (or lack of) & a coach that won’t listen to tenured upperclassmen.

Where there is smoke there is fire. We will all see what happens. Hopefully this is all just garbage but we’ll see.

T-Bob has appeared on several radio shows dismissing it. I don't know. Also, Shepherd has decided not to entire the draft and is staying at LSU. Who knows how much is true?

DGB taking his official to Arkansas this weekend and Mizzou next weekend. Apparently Maty Mauk is coming down on an unofficial next weekend as well to put the full court press on.

Petrino is using his in-home next week. Pinkel used this past week and rumors say it went really, really well and the family is pretty sold on Mizzou, but who knows. I think Mack Brown is using an in-home next week as well. It sounds like OU has faded out and down to Arkansas, Mizzou and Texas officially, but might really just be Arkansas and Mizzou.

I'm slowly getting my hopes up. I enjoy being disappointed.

Pinkel had a helicopter land at the high school, though it could be cause of the dwi ;-).

I still think he takes Arkansas over Mizzou, and hope Texas can jump over Arkansas based on the next 3 years projection. Mack Brown is supposed to have an in-home next week but no one knows what day from what I can find. Darrell Wyatt's (WR coach) visit with him last weekend was supposed to have gone great too, but who knows at this point. With Mario Edwards eliminating Texas yesterday they need to focus all their efforts on him. Assuming Mack gets an in-home late next week I feel solid about our chances, this is Brown makes his money every year. I know Johnathon Gray, Conner Brewer, and Cayleb Jones are recruiting him hard too. Regardless in what happens I'll consider it a moral victory in helping to knock out OU who was always the early favorite for him.

Urban Meyer has 4 or 5 verbals just this week. He's a machine

OSU had a scandal and they're coming out better than they would if they still had Tressel.

So it looks like Mizzou had another visit with DGB today, no real surprise. However it looks like Petrino will not get another visit with him at all and may have committed a minor violation with an encounter with him in San Antonio during the US Army Game. Have also heard rumors that his father might not prefer Arkansas. Guessing it has to do with Petrino being a douche, and him being a football coach himself. Also looks like Mack Brown is working the angle to have the last talk with him prior to the quite period. Either way good potential news for Mizzou and Texas.

Brown's getting the last in-home, but DGB is taking an official to Mizzou this weekend

I keep forgetting about that, or hoping it doesn't happen. Arkansas are sending a couple of coaches to visit with him tonight, or are at least trying to. They also got their 5th WR commit yesterday, hopefully preping for a class without him. Either way I am feeling better about Arkansas potentially falling down on his list.

Rutgers fans are worried about Schiano's late departure ruining what was supposedly a good recruiting season. I guess in a year where PSU must have lost a few of their normal NJ recruits Rutgers would have been poised to get some talent they normally don't get.

Yeah, they're fucked. Every coach with a spot open still will be trying to poach Rutger's recruits. Gotta feel bad for all those recruits too. This is some crappy timing, a week before NSD.

They should be worried. This isn't a great time to be trying to find a new head coach.

And that was a really good class for Rutgers standards.

A 4-star OL committed to Rutgers said he had 38 missed calls and 15 voicemails just this morning. Michigan is now showing interest in him.

I think they were favored for 2 top 150 players on signing day too. Yeah that timing really sucks.

GregBiggins: Another interesting thing Gus (Armstead) said, if they could have gotten the waiver and paperwork filed on time, both boys would be at ND right now

Now there's a swift kick to the groin.

Heh, I was going to post that. Looks like Arik will announce on Sunday.
