About 30 days to go till signing day. UA and Army All-American games are around the corner.

Two of the best skill players in HS history are in this class in Dorial Green-Beckham (WR) and Johnathon Gray (RB).

Big news for me is that Mario Edwards Jr. who is a FSU commit has since announced Texas as his favorite however has not decommited from FSU.

yeah good point r-train, sites like rivals and scout exist because nobody cares about college sports recruiting.

yeah, it's not like college football is a big deal in this country

i dont follow recruiting until it gets really close to signing day, but i'd imagine the odds of DGB going to OU have dwindled severely since it appears we're going to be watching Blake Bell run the ball 57 times a game next year.

What exactly is the selling point for Arkansas, aside from being closer to home than the alternatives? The chance to finish 3rd in the division in a good year? The opportunity to be the next Marcus Monk?

Works for me ;-). Seriously wtf is happening in Norman. Mario Edwards pretty much ripped OU after his visit, and he was loving them after the RRS.

I'm cautiously optimistic on DGB, though he is hiding his recruitment better than anyone right now. I think if his family was closer to Austin I would feel very good, or if the QB situation was better.

i dont know, the whole thing is a debacle. no one can decide which coaches or players they hate more. The only upside is that all the idiots in this state that live for nothing more than OU football are pretty much hating their lives right now.

As compared to who? Mizzou? OU? Texas? Being a higher ranked and having all 3 top receivers graduating this year doesn't hurt, I'd imagine.

Trying to be as objective as possible, but there is a ton of appeal for a stud wide receiver to go to Arkansas. You can count on playing in a pro-style system with a quality quarterback who can get the ball to you. Tyler Wilson returns next year, who broke SEC passing records set by the previous Arkansas QB Ryan Mallett. He's followed on the depth chart by a redshirt Sophomore Parade All American QB. You have a chance to put up video game type numbers in a conference which is all over TV every single weekend, not to mention playing against NFL caliber players every week. There is an excellent chance that 3 or 4 Hog WRs will get drafted fairly high next season, which means that playing time is there for the taking right away.

Just sayin'...

OU and Texas are better schools than Arkansas. Missouri and Arkansas is probably a wash.

I agree with the OU and TX part, but talk to me after this first season for Mizzou in the SEC. They will have to adjust and it will take a few years.

The fanbase will have to adjust too. This isn't the Big12 North anymore.

Any team that adds DGB is going to let him put up video game numbers by throwing the ball, and all of his finalists have a lot of well regarded players that would be playing around him. That's why I don't understand Arkansas, there's no differentiation. It's a good program that's close to home, but so is Mizzou and they've shown an ability to develop NFL caliber wide receivers. OU, Texas, and Bama are all obviously better programs that offer the chance to win big(although you might have doubts about Texas now) and some of them can develop NFL WRs too. Now it's not that simple because the relationships with the coaches are a huge deal(especially for DGB), but from the standpoint that we as fans can look at it, Arkansas is the one that makes me wonder how they can possibly be the favorite.

Well I'm sure somebody cares. I was just wondering who specifically.

I've never understood how someone could like college more than the NFL.

Some people don't understand how one could like college basketball more than the NBA either, but [expletive] happens.

DGB's adopted father is also his HS football coach. His younger brother was just diagnosed with cancer though everything is said to be good on that front. The kid is a future high 1st round pick without puting up video game numbers. He's a better prospect than Julio Jones and AJ Green were. He doesn't need to be the man, simply put him in a program that will protect him and continue to develop him from a S&C standpoint and the rest will take care of itself. His father is going to guide him towards programs and staffs that he trusts.

Personally I would not let him go to Mizzou unless they replace that field. How many acl's were blown out there this year?

It's really easy for people who live in or near college towns that don't have NFL teams.

That's a lot of facts, not opinions.

I really, really think Missouri is going to have to have big time trouble adjusting to the SEC defenses. Both the QB situations at Texas and OU are in flux. The SEC owns ESPN every Saturday night. Bobby Petrino, love him or hate him, knows how to coach an offense and utilize talent.

Now that's a lot of personal opinions.

The turf has been scheduled to be replaced after this year, although the state of Texas' obsession with it was pretty odd.

Some are facts; some are less factual. All are from your biased viewpoint. Doesn't mean you're wrong (though I share TT's skepticism). But just bc you post quasi-factual stuff doesn't mean your post was objective.
