Punting is important but it's not like this injury is a death sentence. Hell, Brad Maynard and his noodle leg averaged only 40.1 in 2010 when we made the NFCCG.

As bad as Maynard was, at least he did provide some value with his directional punting.

I was listening to the Score and they said Maynard might be a possibility to resign but I guess he left on bad terms. Does anyone remember anything about that?

My Optimism is waning on this season. Between our oline, Dline, linebacker and safety issues, it's simply too many question marks.

It's going to be interesting how we are versus the run

How many games do you have them winning this year?

I have them winning 10-11 games without devastating injuries and a decent defense.

Big boy offense makes me giddy, but this is the first time in a long time there was legit worry on the defensive side of the ball.

I gotta say, that's kind of disappointing. JPP would have been a better lithmus test for the Webb/Williams battle.

Oh dont worry, Justin Tuck and Osi can provide plenty of beatings without JPP.

That's pretty healthy optimism. I don't understand your position, then :) 10-11 wins puts us where we need to be in 2012/2013, IMO. A decent shot in the post season.

The defense is what mainly worries me. Our oline is just as bad as last year with the potential of Carimi making it slightly better. Of course that prediction is based on a healthy Urlacher.

So we can potentially start the season without our best safety and most important linebacker.

Is anyone else getting sick of the local media whining about the Bears disclosure of Urlacher's injury situation? It's absurd, the Bears and Urlacher owe nothing to the fans and media in terms of dicussing the details over this.

Yes. Sports talk radio is worse than usual. Everyone is amateur doctors.

Yeah, it's a bit much. However, it could be a back breaking blow to our defense and potentially be a problem all year. People seem to be freaking out

Just count the Colts as a fifth preseason game and shoot for September 13th.

Exactly. Even if he plays against the Colts, is he knee going to be ok to go 4 days later in a much more important and tougher game against Green Bay? I'm not saying the Colts are a gimme, I think they are (slightly) better than people think, but home against the Colts on a week's rest is a much easier challenge than in Green Bay with 4 days rest. Can he do both? Is it worth finding out if he's going to be pushing it just to start week 1?

If they lose to the Colts in week 1 with or without Urlacher the Bears will be facing more pressing issues than getting Urlacher healthy/keeping him healthy.

Bears cut Kahlil Bell

After taking the team flight to NYC.

When you're cut, you've got nothing. No cash, no credit, no recent decent job history. You're stuck in whatever city they decide to dump you in. "Where am I?" "New York City." You do whatever work comes your way. You rely on anyone who's still talking to you.

Yeah, I'm sure that's exactly how it goes down

Telling him after taking the team flight was. If you missed the second part. That's your loss.

they may try to get him to the practice squad, in which case he's still an employee.
