Podlesh comes up limping, and his lips can later be read to say 'f me'.

They said its a hip injury. Better that than a hammy imo.

Wow, the beginning of this halftime segment on Tice is all a big 'screw you' to Martz.

Tice: 'When you have a coach who tries to cram a system down your throat and doesn't listen, frustration can build up, so I make a point to listen.'

Pretty similar to what we've been hearing all camp, but it really shows how dysfunctional the offense was last year.

John Mullin @CSNMoonMullin 2m

very scary, head-down tackle by rookie S Brandon Hardin - not getting up and team med personnel out with cart and board for lifting

He raised his arm as he was loaded on the cart. He led with the head. He also whiffed on the Banks return.

i think it's a real meatball thing to do. if cutler didn't go down, the team would have made the postseason twice with martz in charge of the play-calling. i don't understand the martz hate at all, you'd think he was jon shoop or something.

Let's not pretend they were the greatest show on turf either. Clearly both Jay and Tice had issues with how Martz ran the offense. Fans can be meatball, not players. They had to work with the man every day, whereas fans are judging from afar. They clearly felt that Martz was pushing to do things that didn't work with those players, judging by the interview. Maybe they should be more diplomatic about talking about it, but Cutler is gonna say what he thinks. And I think Tice really didn't get along with Martz, judging by what's been said.

A year ago I thought Martz was a victims of terrible decisions by Angelo. Now he reminds me a bit of Rumsfeld - the civilian whose strategy for the military was broadley disliked by all who had to execute it.

Nobody was pretending they were the greatest show on turf, they were good though.

And I'm not sure how you can say player can't be meatball when pretty much everything that defines the meatball comes from the mind of players.

Martz had nothing to work with and did a reasonable good job. Tice has been given a hell of a lot more to work with.

Right...nobody called him John Shoop either. It was an intentional overstatement.

You're right here. There's plenty of meatballery in players. Poor argument by me. I don't think that's the case here though. I think there was genuine conflict in offensive philosophies here.

Tice is also installing a scheme that fits much better with the personnel he has. Specifically, he's not asking a dicey offensive line to do more than they are capable.

let's also not get wrapped up in everyone having to love each other. we knew what martz was when he came to town and he was far more successful here than the previous coordinator. so he tried to fit a few square pegs in round holes and the players clashed with him, so what? he was the coordinator, not the head coach, and often times it's beneficial for the coach to have a bad cop on the staff.

no one knows this yet. tice seems to have the respect and admiration of the players, and they seem to like whatever system he's running better than martz's. that doesn't mean it's going to work any better. martz was the anti-meathead, tice is the quintessential, that may have more to do with the players liking him more.

Let's not forget that in both 2010 and 2011, the offense didn't really click until the interventions with Martz. Martz was stubbornly trying to call games in a way that our personnel could not handle and Lovie had to rein him in.

Remember, Lovie Smith once challenged a Marty Booker catch that already came with a pass interference flag attached to it. I swear that happened

lol I still remember that....that was a "WTF" moment indeed.
