OKC has non-geriatric rim protectors, KD, and two guys that can check Wade on defense. They should be able to let Lebron go crazy and still win fairly comfortably.

Should be an awesome series. I picked these 2 teams to make it here to start the playoffs, but the league won big here. The 2 best players in the league, the best home court in the NBA in OKC. Should be an awesome series.

Miami in 6.

Man, you are the worst.

OKC will win, they won't wear down and they'll be able to remove Wade from the equation. Speaking of Wade does he ever take a jumper when someone' near him without kicking his leg out? I'd like to see that [expletive] get called for an offense foul - it's the correct call.

Every free throw Reggie Miller ever shot was because he did that. Well, nearly every one.

I'm not convinced OKC has the upper hand. Heat are the team that has been here before. Boston wore down a little but I'm just not sure that's balanced out by a team's first trip to the finals.

That first trip to the NBA Finals sure put the 1991 Bulls, 1994 Rockets, 1999 Spurs, 2004 Pistons, 2006 Heat (first Finals for Wade) and 2008 Celtics at a disadvantage.

Didn't magically give the Celtics an advantage when they went back in 2010.

That's some WSR-level isht right there, Soul.

Didn't even think to go the other way with teams returning to the Finals. 2004 Lakers and 2005 Pistons also lost during a return trip to the Finals in recent years.

Love when Bulls fans slam other guys for getting calls.

Yeah, the team from India-no-place with no superstars always used to get the calls against the team from Chicago with Michael freakin' Jordan.

This is going to be an awesome series to watch. A lot of great players. Miami's best chance is for Westbrook to go off.

Lol.

I urge you to look at the 1950 Syracuse Nationals. A bit more experience and maybe they take down the Lakers. Dolph Schayes just wasn't ready yet.

Reggie Miller was one of the biggest names for over a decade, Chris Mullen was another hall of famer on that team and Smits and Mark Jackson were big names as well. That team was pretty hollywood, I dont remember who got what calls but I do know that Reggie's massive pushoff of MJ was game deciding no call that went the no-name pacers way.

Chris Mullin was 90 years old by time he got to the Pacers. Are we seriously going to have this conversation? I mean imagine how good the Bulls would've been if they got any help from the officials

Mullin is younger than MJ and Rodman. I was disputing the notion that the Pacers were a no-name squad, they were not. Did MJ draw fouls, of course. Did he get the benefit of the doubt like every other great player before him and since, of course. He also attacked the basket at volume, was the most skilled player of his day, and undoubtably one of the most savvy. Saying the Bulls dynasty was sheparded by the NBA/Officiating is insane.

Ha ha, so? Michael Jordan is older than every current NBA player and is still a bigger star/name than the vast majority of them.

No one said this. But the Pacers did lack superstars. Reggie Miller was never a superstar and, if Chris Mullin ever was, he certainly wasn't by the time he was a Pacer (he was a role-player at that time and often/usually was on the bench at the end of games). And, even if you want to dispute the superstardom of those players, none of them could compare to Michael Jordan.

Saying the Bulls dynasty was sheparded by the NBA/Officiating is insane.

Again, no one said this. The Bulls were better than the Pacers. The Bulls did not beat the Pacers because of officiating (there was never some 2002 Lakers-Kings scenario). But you have to ignore all context and understanding of the NBA to believe a team from Indiana with Reggie Miller received the benefit of more, or equal, calls than the team from Chicago with Michael Jordan.

First off. Reggie Miller was absolutely a superstar. He was Cheryl Miller's brother and a star at UCLA. Then he famously battled with NYK. He was the second leading scorer and started at the 2 for 96 olympic team.

Secondly, I clearly wasnt aguing that Miller/Mullin were on Jordan's level, they were not. Jordan became the biggest star by being the best player in the league. He then enjoyed the benefit of the whistle that all the greats are given.

If media market size determined officiating the knicks would get ever call. I dont notice that they do.

More than anything else I despise that the only thing people talk about with respec t to the NBA is the officiating and that every single game is determined by the officials. Its annoying. An NBA game is virtually impossible to officiate. I think thety do the best they can.

ESPN should never allow Van Gundy to announce another game. All he does is sit there and complain about guys flopping and officials missing calls. Its grating. I dont want a color man complaining about the games, especially, when by and large they have been entertaining aside from his bluster.
