Hamilton allegedly day to day with a shoulder contusion.

See ya in May Rip!

I could care less as long as the Bulls realize they need to go out and get an actual living SG at the deadline.

How much less could you care?

Rumor I saw on another site that supposedly came from RealGM. Take with large grains of salt.

The first rumor, says that Orlando is offering Dwight Howard and Hedo Turkoglu to the Bulls for Joakim Noah, Luol Deng, Omer Asik, and Kyle Korver.

Not that I wouldn't do that deal, but who's our backup center after that trade?

Hedo by default.

Or Taj. We'd have to coax Rasheed Wallace or Etan Thomas out of retirement. Or we give them two number ones instead of Omer.

I wouldn't miss Korver all that much. We'd miss Deng's D, but does having Howard make up for that? More importantly, does that trade make us better than the Heat?

I'd get over it real quick but it would be tough to see Deng and Noah go.

I can't imagine it happening anyways so it doesn't matter.

I believe so, the Heat, for all their supposed greatness, have no inside game, teaming a Howard with Rose leaves the Heat with no defensive answer. They won't be able to put James on Rose and just forget about everyone else, Howard would rule the paint.

I don't think it will, Gar-Pax are convinced the Bulls are good enough as is, they're not going to lift a finger.

How is the European guy we drafted doing in Europe this year? Would he represent much value for trading?

Gar-Pax

stop

Give me a break, I'm enjoying a Belgian Golden/Tripel ale that I bottled and thought was infected - it wasn't and tastes pretty good, at 9% ABV goes down easy as well.

How is it that so many people consider Deng to be just an okay player? Is Howard enough of an upgrade over Noah to make up for the downgrade at SF by losing Deng?

He's the best player in Europe.

Yeah, he was the Euroleague MVP, literally.

If OKC makes the determination that Harden is worth more in a trade than on the team, then I would trade either and possibly both.

You'd entertain trading Deng and Noah for James Harden?

I think hes better value than either, obviously. And you cant trade both for him anyway, salaries would have to align. The post is more of a reflection of how much i value the potential of Harden to be an all nba type than an actual "lets trade deng and noah for harden".

But yea, Id probably rather have Harden then both of those guys.

Wtf seriously. This is [expletive] absurd. The weakness of this team was the sg against Miami which well is all the eff that matters and now you want to do a 1-2. Jesus Christ how is harden better pieces for rose than deng and Noah? Harden isn't roses robin. What the hell is wrong with some patience from Hamilton. Well Im not throwing Hamilton out and I love his game against the heat which to me is all that matters for this year and the next coup 2-3.

How long before Mrotic can come to the U.S.?
Posted (edited)
what exactly is the situation with mirotic? when can/will he come here? does he have to stay there through the full contract extension he signed? Edited by 17 Seconds

I think the earliest is likely 2014, assuming details with the buyout can work. NBA teams can only pay up to 500K of a buyout and his first contract will be tied to the rookie scale still for a while. I want to say his current contract ends after 2016 at which point you wouldn't need a buyout, but its unlikely he'd get to that point without extending the years, so at some point a buyout is likely going to have to occur. The key is when his salary isn't tied by the rookie scale. I think its either two years or four years. Once we can pay him more, it will be easier to entice him, regardless of the large buyout number.

Edit-Research:

He'll be tied to the rookie scale amount for his first three years, which at the 120% max is as follows:

1,242,240.00 | 1,335,360.00 | 1,428,600.00

His buyout is said to be 2Mil EUR, which is about $2.6M in today's dollars. Bulls could pay $500K this year and increase by increments of 25K each year. So in 2013, with the Bulls kicking in the full amount allowed, he's losing about $620K that first season. Now its possible for him to work out a payment plan with his club or negotiate a lower buyout, but he's still being hit pretty hard funding a buyout on the scale of a 23rd pick.

Starting in year 4 from the draft (2014 off season), we could sign him like any other free agent, the catch of course you need cap space or cap exceptions (like the MLE) to do it. The MLE is now a lot less effective, especially if you are over the luxury tax. Hard to say for sure, but we will likely be over the tax at that point, so our MLE won't be the full-sized one. So Mirotic, would still be taking a huge cut his first year. In 2015 Boozer expires, so we'd probably have the full MLE to use, but you have to keep in mind, that we wouldn't have any room for FA additions, as he'd be it. He'd be 24 at that point. The next season he'd be free of his Real Madrid commitment, but I doubt he takes that risk. At some point he'll extend.

All that being said, I think it will work out. People were worried Asik wasn't coming over for a long time, especially because I believe he signed an extension after his first year, but it all worked out and he came over in a reasonable schedule.

How do you even know what Hamilton's game is at this point? He was horrendous in his one game against the Heat this season.

Is it at all possible to keep Deng and Rose and still obtain Howard? The espn draft thing accepted just about every one of my trade suggestions, so I don't trust it.

Salary-wise, sure, but Orlando isn't going to trade D12 for Noah and Ronnie Brewer.

Not that I wouldn't do this deal, but its certainly not worth it if he's a rental. And would he re-sign?

What about with Charlottes unprotected pick?
