The plot thickens...

Something definitely doesn't compute here. Braun is no dummy. He already had his big contract. Baseball is a business where there's lots of money at stake. Anything's possible including criminal forces at play tainting something in his food or his normal supplements. Braun may have ticked off the wrong people. Heck Attanasio may have made enemies in business as well.

It makes me pretty happy that the Brewers won't have Braun for a third of the season. I could care less that he took a PED though.

There's some gold over at Brewerfan
Braun has never looked like a guy who took steroids. This just makes no sense
I feel like I need to hold a candle light vigil for all of us Brewer fans....not kidding
1) Ryan Braun has not failed a PED test. Not until MLB releases a statement will it be official. Is Chris Paul a Laker?
I just can't believe Braun would knowing taking something that could get him banned. I'm sure he trusted a doctor to give him supplements within the MLB drug testing rules, and that doctor screwed up.

And no ELCABALLO, they don't have to take away ARod, Bonds or Pudge's MVP too. Those guys weren't caught using PED's with testing in place in the same season they won the MVP. It's pretty simple logic.

There's some hardcore denial and rationalizing going on over there. A few are looking at this realistically, but most are simply trying to convince themselves and each other it's going to be okay.

Fixed and agreed.

In terms of moral judgment, I am looking down on him more for the hypocrisy of his quotes after Rodriguez was accused than I am with the actual act of PED use.

Oooohhh the intrigue.

That's [expletive] awesome.

This is excellent Pujols therapy.

I am 100% serious, it could have been any of the other 24 guys on the team and I would have been fine, but if Ryan Braun of all people is a cheater and a liar, then there are way better things to do with my life and I am [expletive] done with baseball.

BWAHAHA

i love that espn had somebody on to tell us that testosterone is a natural hormone produced by the body and that there is a difference between natural and synthetic.

Written for those in Milwaukee.

hey buck up there, rafael furcal resigned for two more years. not only is he a decent player but he also may pick up the DUI slack left by larussa's departure.

I figured Freese and Dan Mclaughlin could cover it.

pretty sure mclaughlin was fired. I know some other guy was doing their pbp the last month of the season.

The complete denial is amazing.

Again, Braun was never "caught for PEDs." A set of ESPN reporters reported that he failed a test.
Exactly. This is looking more and more like it is just horrible journalism by ESPN, out to sensationalize something that should have never come to light.

I don't know if he was fired or not. It was after the regular season, so all there was were postgame shows on FSN, but he wasn't there.

Haha that's hilarious. I know it's common place to be skeptical about news reports and such, but there's just no way that ESPN would move forward with this big a story and giving it this kind of coverage if there was even a shred of doubt that the info they received is true. This isn't a tweet were talking about.

Meanwhile I sit and wait hoping that one day Aaron Rodgers can get caught doing something so stupid.

Brewer fans are just in disbelief, that's all. I can understand that. Braun up here has a pretty good rep. It won't be the first time a guy with a good reputation turned out to be less-than-pure, but at this early stage, I get the denial and rationalization.

My guess is over the next few days you'll start to hear more balanced judgements.

Just curious about something that's only loosely related. These guys can get cortisone shots from their doctor, or no? Or is even local injections for injuries banned?

I'm suffering from tendonitis of the right shoulder and I am on a 10 day prednisone treatment. Am I out of luck? I mean is that gonna ban me from baseballz?

ESPN is just loving this I bet. Taking down the Brewers franchise player to show that the only way the Brewers could win is by using PEDs

I don't understand. Why would ESPN even care about this?

They're reaching for whatever glimmer of hope they can that this is all a farce, regardless of how ridiculous it is. It's pretty sad.

Because the Brewers dont play in New York or Boston so have no right to be relevant
