Not sure if this was posted somewhere else, Sveum is keeping Jaramillo, Strode, and Listach. Dernier and DeJesus were informed they're gone and Riggins has talked to Sveum and they will speak again. Wittenmeyer made mention of Chris Bosio as a candidate for pitching coach.

I understand Jaramillo as they're paying him a ton regardless. Don't care either way about Strode. Not quite sure how I feel about Riggins. On one hand, maybe he can be blamed for Demspters struggles, but can he also be given credit for Samardzjia seemingly pulling it together? As for Listach, I'm not quite sure what the bench coach even does aside from take over when the manager gets booted. He seems like a smart and well respected baseball guy who could be a big league manager one day.

If anyone ever sits in the seats near the Cubs bullpen, they will learn to love Lester Strode. Watching him harass the security guys is often more fun than the game.

@MarkBermanFox26: Astros bullpen coach Jamie Quirk leaving to become bench coach for Cubs.

generally don't like guys named jamie

Huh...that's a strange quirk.

I HATE UNCLE JAMIE!

sorry.

one should never apologize for that

Great movie. By the way, Bosio is our pitching coach, according to chicagocubsonline. Quotes in the article from Bosio appear that it's true as well. Probably not an official announcement til next week. Counsell in the mix for a job as well.

Nice scoop for the Appleton paper.

“All of those long-suffering Cubs fans, their will to win, their want to win, their passion to win, it’s going to be a lot of good energy,’’ said Bosio, who left his position as the Brewers’ Triple A pitching coach in Nashville to join the Cubs.

“It’s going to be agonizing at times, and rewarding as well. That’s the rigors of the season. But we’re going to try and create some magic at Wrigley.’’
