I love Aramis and will miss him quite a bit, but I don't see the upside to what his agent is doing in ripping Brenly. If he had to comment I would simply say, "Aramis' record speaks for itself. He's been as productive as any 3B in the NL over the last 10 years."

It already has traction. Everybody who reports on Ramirez reports bases it on the perception supplied by Kaplan, , Brenly, Sullivan & Co. We've seen multiple comments by Buster Olney, Timmy K and others who all bad mouth Ramirez.

Kinzer now has to do damage control. Like it or not, Brenly has a pretty respected voice in baseball and the comments he made could easily hinder Aramis from getting a bigger deal than he wants.

Free-agent third baseman Aramis Ramirez has met with the Angels, sources told Foxsports.com's Ken Rosenthal and Jon Paul Morosi, and a contract offer is likely forthcoming.
