I was thinking last night, is there a more overrated player in the NFL than Desean Jackson? He's basically a slightly better version of Johnny Knox. Yeah, he will give you that huge deep play now and then, but he does nothing else as a WR. He doesn't go across the middle, he doesn't fight for balls, he doesn't block. Of course the BooYaa's have anointed him a great WR, but he's really not.

What an awesome game. Cutler looked fantastic out there. A huge welcome back to our only legitimate receiver, Earl Bennett. Absolutely thrilled that the coaching staff went with a game plan that forced Vick to throw the ball, because he's really not so good at that.

While the idea of running into the endzone to kill the last 9 seconds might seem like a good idea, I'm glad they didn't do it in this instance. If you line anyone other than the punter behind the center, the defense will know what you are up to. They are already sending speedy outside guys to block the punt and they have the momentum going in that direction while the punter has to catch the ball, turn and run. If he doesn't get to the endzone, the opposing defense is getting a free play to win the game. To even consider that play, you have to be 100% certain that the runner can get to the endzone, and I'm not convinced, personally. I could see the punter not even catching the ball as he anticipates running before the ball gets to him. It's not his regular job to turn and run. I guess with the Eagles not having any timeouts remaining, you could put the punter in the huddle and just not have him line up behind center, which would not give the Eagles a chance to get a different defense into the game or make a last second adjustment. Pretty risky.

I don't know what to tell you if you don't think the Bears' fastest player can outrun the Eagles' fastest player in a 40 yd dash when he has a 15 yd head start.

Of course, the Eagles' fastest player can likely do a 40 yd dash in fewer than 9 seconds.

on a night when Peppers suffered what initially looked like it could have been a bad ankle sprain, the Bears came up with their most impressive victory of the season. (Urlacher said to Peppers while he was on the ground, "Which leg did you hurt, the one with the brace?" When Peppers answered "Yes" through a grimace, Urlacher shot back, smiling, "You'll be fine. Let's go.")

Maybe we could try blocking them.

the only problem with giving the ball to knox or hester is that they likely would have ran the wrong direction.

Sure, because that's worked so well for them this year.

Thanks for all the support. The good luck charm @KristinCav is back in her Bears gear, should be a fun second half of the season.

Are they doing it again?

I'm still hung over.

Jay missed quite a few passes last night from where I was sitting. He had some open guys for potential big gains that he just missed. He played well overall though. Man I love beating the kiddie rapist supporting eagles.

That's been the theory since Jay was in the audience at Dancing with the Stars.

There was a stretch in the 2nd quarter where he was really really off and looked horrible. He got better though.

It looked like he was getting frustrated with Hester and Sanzenbuckeye dropping catchable balls 2 plays in a row.

Man I didn't realize how much people were picking the Eagles last night.

-Just heard on CTL replay from yesterday, all 3 picked the Eagles.

-Right before the game Hub Arkush (known Bears pessimist) wrapped up his show saying "I'm not gonna make a prediction, but I don't expect anything good for the Bears tonight...hopefully its close".

-All 9 ESPN guys had the Eagles winning

-Peter King had the Eagles 23-21

-All 5 CBS sports guys had the Eagles, and 3 of them ATS which was 8.5

-All 4 Yahoo guys picked the Eagles

-All 9 CHICAGO TRIBUNE "experts" picked the Eagles.

I cannot find one person that picked the Bears to win...not one person.

Fake edit: I FOUND ONE! On NFL.com so dude named Albert Breer picked Bears 24-23 on a "hunch"

With an 8.5 point spread and all the talk about Philly finally figuring it out, I absolutely expected every expert to pick them to win. I had a lot of confidence about this one and it befuddled the people at our tailgate.

Yeah, for as many bad throws as he had he had seemingly an equal number of great ones that the Bears' receivers just muffed.

I went back and looked at King's fine 15 and saw this note on the Eagles (ranked 11, three spots ahead of the Bears):

As I wrote earlier, Nnamdi Asomugha is getting comfortable in the Eagles defense, and is texting and emailing his defensive coordinator during the week. Just what teams on the Eagles' schedule need -- Nnamdi getting it.

Drew Magary is spot on in his ripping of King for his ridiculous columns. Why is the fact that he texts his coach during the week the least bit meaningful?

ESPN just showed the "2 man huddle," 2 Bucs collided trying to get Forte. Anyone GIF that? I havent been in the NFL threads lately.
