Me too. Do you think he's intimately involved in the negotiations at this point? I imagine it's really important to the Ricketts that he approves the talent that's leaving in order for him to come. Maybe Epstein himself is the huge sticking point, as the attractiveness of the job goes significantly down if lose our #2 prospect.

 

Doubtful.

 

 

I would think Theo having any part in the negotiation would represent a huge conflict of interest.

If I'm Ricketts I leak all the Red Sox bad faith tricks that I can, hoping to put the public pressure on them to stop acting like [expletive] children.

 

They already asked for Garza and to have us take on Lackey. How much badder faith can there be?

I'm thinking, if this doesn't get done, hire Hoyer as GM with the understanding that we get Theo next fall.

crane kenney must have realized that theo was going to usurp of his currently unbridled power within the organization and pulled some strings to wreck the deal at the last minute

Yea, someone has some bad sources or the sources they have were merely speculating. This is far past the ridiculous point and I am going to blame Gammons for not letting go of Theo's leg.
