Never thought a Cubs thread started this October would reach 100 pages in 4 days. How many days till Pitchers and Catchers report? :clapping:

That's hardly fair. Ricketts is 14 years younger! Who are we kidding anyway? They would both hire fighters to do their dirty work.

:yahoo:

Ultimately, the talks boil down to this: Everyone wants the deal to get done. And so, barring something dramatically unforeseen, it will get done.

Indeed, one source familiar with the negotiations suggested that talks are “progressing” this weekend, and that “all parties expect a deal to occur.”

But while there will likely be suggestions along the way that the two teams are far from finding middle ground, it is all but inevitable that they do so, because that is the outcome that all involved in the process have now accepted as not just likely but also desirable.

I've heard Abraham is a super homer though.

Could just be trying to make the Red Sox look good.

RT @PeteAbe: AL source: The talks between the #RedSox and #Cubs are: "business-like, civil and moving forward over the weekend.”

Hey look, realism!!!

Theo should start this winter with a bang and sign Fielder and then Sabathia when he ops out of his contract. I think that'd be a little nice off-season. :D Edited by PrimeTime

I did not notice earlier that Muskat outright claimed BJax wouldn't be included. That's a relief on some level I suppose.

Muskat says something we want to hear and all of the sudden she has some shred of credibility?

I said "a relief on some level". Hardly championing that as truth.

[expletive]. This whole thing is in doubt. I give it a 25% chance of occurring.

If that's how people in Boston reason things through, then maybe we shouldn't have expected any different behavior from Luccino/Henry.

If you'd lived in the NY metro area through Bangor area, this wouldn't be a surprise. Everything Yankees and RS is valued in a different currency.
