I have not heard it yet, but during the lockout the media gave Rodgers a bunch of crap about not getting together with his WR and getting workouts together for the team. Well I guess during his post game interview he ripped into the media like 2 or 3 times about it.

Saw the two best QB's out there this season imo. Combined stats: 59-84, 731 yds & 6 TDs

Could very well be the case. Won't count Brady out yet but it was sure a show those 2 put on tonight.

I'm anxious to hear the audio. Some people are saying the first thing he did was mock Brees for having OTA's.

I am looking for it right now. I will post a link or tell you what he said as soon as I find it.

Yeah, he had at least four digs in there about the offseason workouts. I don't understand why we were getting criticized for that. There's only so much that players can do in those workouts without a coaching staff instructing them what to do.

Work on timing with receivers? Brees and Sproles worked out together and I think the positive effects of that were seen tonight. Nevertheless, seems like a dumb thing to criticize Rodgers for.

Cobb's really the only receiver that needed work with Rodgers, but I see your point. He's been working with all of his other targets for years, so I don't think chemistry was really a big issue there.

I just saw something on NFL Network. They asked him about his TD pass to Cobb.

"The catch and run where he actually ran the wrong route, I was able to read him, Surprisingly. We didn't have off season workouts. Surprisingly I was able to read his body language, and he made a nice catch and run for a touchdown"

thought this was an interesting article about the nfl's decision to postpone a week of games after 9/11. also, kyle turley is a mentally unstable meathead.

"He told us we were going to go to Pittsburgh to practice with the Steelers that week until things settled down," Turley recalls. "I [expletive] went nuts in a team meeting. I said, 'I'm not going to Pittsburgh, and I don't know who the [expletive] is.'

"Players were bitching about their paychecks, not knowing if they were gonna get paid. I was pissed, as I normally am, saying, 'How can you guys focus on money right now? How can you coaches be talking about football? Why do you want to uproot us from our families and take us to Pennsylvania, where one of the [expletive] planes crashed?'

"I stood up on the table and went kind of crazy. I threw a banana against the wall, and it splattered everywhere. I said, 'You know what, [expletive] all you guys. I'm going to join the Marines.'"

Turley cleaned out his locker and headed to his car in the players' parking lot, and when Haslett followed him and tried to calm him down, the lineman recalls, "We almost got in a fight. I love Jim Haslett, he's one of the best coaches I've ever had. But I was crazed.

I'm glad you surprised yourself, Aaron Rodgers, at how awesome you found yourself to be in that moment.

Rivers belongs in that group as well.

Maybe I should just hop on the bandwagon and become a Packers fan. They have two former UK players in Masthay and Cobb. Watching Rodgers, Jennings, Finley, et al every week would be much better than watching something like this from the Bengals over and over:

1st and 10: 3 yard run up the middle by Benson

2nd and 7: 2 yard run up the middle by Benson, followed by a cloud of dust

3rd and 5: 4 yard pass INC to Brian Leonard

4th and 5: punt

Its great to have football back.

Yeah, too bad some of us couldn't watch it. #-o

No power, no cell phone and air card didn't work. Candlelight, flashlights and getting to know the neighbors better is how I spent my evening. Yay! Hope everyone else enjoyed the kickoff to the NFL season.

Losing Tramon on that last drive really sucked. and that BS PI call in the endzone was terrible. But GB did a horrible job tackling tonight and the secondary was shaky at times. Some of it has to be credit to the Saints however. Brees is a great QB and if you don't get enough pressure on him he will make you pay. Never fun blowing a 15 pt lead late in the 4th but a win is a win. Hopefully Tramon isn't out for long. Completely different team with him out. Rodgers looked great, Cobb looked unreal.

Crazy Game, 1-0. Onto Carolina next week.

Don't forget that brutal touchback call. Saints should have started on their own 1 for that last drive.

It was the right call -- your momentum can't take you into the EZ. (Per Mike Perreia).

I'm gonna go ahead and not feel too bad for you because you live in the most ideal climate on the planet.

And it was a great game that unfortunately ended on a terrible play call.

Anybody who whined about that call should have their football fan card revoked. It's not a pass reception in college where you just have to get one foot down. He went into the endzone.

I was surprised that Al Michaels didn't immediately know that. Collinsworth I can see, but Michaels is a pretty bright guy.

Well, it was 99 degrees and the second hottest day of the year when the power went out, but I hear ya. Actually ended up being fun. Was able to pick up a 12 pack of beer at the bar and already had steaks and hamburger thawed out. Hoping the next blackout doesn't happen during football games.

Also, it wasn't reviewed. Very few egregious calls fail to get reviewed within 2 minutes. On opening night, no less.

I think most football fans wouldn't know that.
