Lake HR:

Very cool thanks for the video.

Lake looks/reminds me a lot of Castro at the plate seeing that video. Everything from his stance and swing all the way to his body type.

I don't know, he kind of makes Castro look like Steroid Era Barry Bonds.

I was going to ask if you could start posting in all lowercase with no punctuation again, but then realized you never stopped.

In other news, Junior Lake has a .400 OBP, so enjoy that while it lasts I guess.

that post is just dripping

I'm out of town tomorrow through Sunday so I won't be able to update box scores during that time.

Vitters saw 17 pitches in 4 AB, taking 5 called strikes and 7 balls. I like seeing a decent number of called strikes — i like to interpret that as a sign that he is trying to discern more between drivable and nondrivable pitches. It doesn't necessarily mean that he is, but to me it seems better than if he isn't taking any pitches within the strike zone.

is speed a component of Lakes game or does everyone run in that league?

Lake is relatively fast and an efficient base runner. He was 38/44 during the regular season.

On the flip side, while he's hitting well, he's sporting a 10/2 K/BB ratio in 36 AFL at bats.

Lake has good speed but a good number of Lake's SB this year were delayed steals (an astounding 15 of his 19 Daytona SB were delayed). Anyone know if the trend continues?

4-5 w/double

11th steal

3 rbi (for those who care)

another two walks for LeMahieu, too.

Was at the game up in Scottsdale today. One thing i'll say is i'm getting more and more impressed with Lake. He's really seeing the ball well right now. He's spitting on breaking balls and some good breaking balls and crushing fastballs. Hatley pitched a scoreless inning for the first time and his slider was much tighter.

If he's simply recognizing the breaking balls better, that's a huge step forward for him.

Junior Lake wins Player of the Week honors for last week:

MLB.com[/url]"]The 21-year-old Lake hit .455 for the week with three doubles, one home run, eight RBIs, three runs and four stolen bases.

For the three-week-old Fall League season, Lake is hitting .379 with five doubles, one triple, four home runs, 14 RBIs, 13 runs and 11 stolen bases.

The league stolen-base leader after three weeks, Lake is on pace to challenge the Fall League single-season stolen-base record of 24, set by Rick Holifield (Phillies) in 1994.

He also ranks second in the league in hits (22) and total bases (41), third in slugging percentage (.707), tied for third in doubles and home runs, fifth in RBIs and tied for fifth in batting.

He enters the league's fourth week of play riding a nine-game hitting streak with extra-base hits in each of his last seven games.

The 6-foot-3, 215-pound San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic native split the 2011 season between Class A Advanced Daytona (.315, six home runs, 34 RBIs, 19 stolen bases in 49 games) and Double-A Tennessee (.248, six home runs, 17 RBIs, 19 stolen bases in 67 games). He is a .267 career Minor League hitter over five seasons with 33 home runs, 192 RBIs and 82 stolen bases.

No, he's started at 1B, 3B (primarily) and DH.
