He had pitched in 5 of 6 days prior to yesterday, so it's possible they're just giving him a bit of a rest.

well good thing we're pitching marmol so frequently, after all we're in the heat of a pennant race.

I agree with your point, but he did have the day off yesterday, so there was no reason not to pitch him today. Now using him in 5 out of the 6 prior days, that is a different story.

Meh, they've needed him because they've actually been winning close baseball games lately. Earlier in the season he would go 2 weeks without a save opp.

 

I know we're not going anywhere this year but he's an established pitcher who has been able to throw 70+ relief innings a year. I'm not worried about him getting hurt.

 

Is Carlos still leading the MLB in blown saves after this one? Quite troubling for a pitcher who just got a big extension this spring.
