Hey, I've actually been there!

 

It sucks.

 

I had to go there in January for a job. It was a 5 minute walk from the hotel to the venue, and it was 5 of the most miserably cold minutes I've ever experienced.

 

In other words, [expletive] Toledo (esp. since I'll be back next January :x )

There was more security personnel than passengers when I arrived at the airpot (4 to 3 - not passengers at the checkpoint, in the entire airport). Probably should've taken the advice of my customer when they suggested places to stop off to eat on the way, as their menu there consisted of Subway, and the saddest bar I've ever seen in my life.

The Mud Hens are the main feature of the city -- really nice park! Then hot dogs at Tony Packo's (on east side of river) and heavy drinking and dixieland jazz. Then you LEAVE and go sail around Lake Erie islands -- the drunkest island on the planet is south bass island -- incredible. Makes next morning's sailing a real adventure. Maybe play a round at 7th best golf course in the world at Inverness -- hmm that might be invitation only. Then you've exhausted all the possibilities and again realize it sucks. Well maybe go catch a walleye or something.

Well.... when you've been on the road for 8 days, run over 5,000 miles, and ya see Toledo knowing that in just 4.5 more hours you'll be home....... it really looks beautiful !!!!

Eh, that's really only one crappy player too many. This is a day game after a night game in a new city in the middle of a stretch of 16 straight games. Players on an older team tend to hit the wall when those circumstances come up relatively late in the season. Soto definitely could use the day off, Colvin pretty much has to be out there and Byrd is an older player who plays a very athletic position and is still recovering from a pretty significant injury. Barney's the only player being out that seems excessive given how young he is.

He's played in every game since the ASG and started all but one, plus he's struggled at the plate since the break. I don't have a problem with him sitting, and at this stage in the game there's no reason to worry about forfeit lineups. Although it would be nice to prevent Dusty's Reds from overtaking Pittsburgh for 4th place.

Yeah, good point. Plus DeWitt's actually had a decent (for him) last couple of weeks, albeit in a very limited capacity.

For those not watching, Campana just hit a 2-run inside the park HR.

 

With help from the Cincy LF bouncing off the padding in left, just beyond the Cubs bullpen. Ball bounced off wall and rolled to fence, and the LF stumbled the whole way there.
