Again, no one is saying that Colvin SHOULD have gotten more opportunity. But 100 PA's, even though they were horrendous, just isn't much to go on when he put up a 111 OPS+ in 400 PA's last year.

There was also the 1900 or so PA he had in the minors to that point where he wasn't good either.

Looks relatively consistent to his 2010 performance to me.

But anyway, I'm not even sure what you're arguing, aside from trying to make sure every negative aspect of this discussion is highlighted. No one thinks Colvin should have gotten more PT until now. No one thinks Colvin should be riding the bench right now. No one should think that 100 PA's of Colvin this year(or even the 500 PA's he's had in his MLB career thus far) are proof of anything conclusive about him as a player. So you give him the opportunity to fill in the blanks about his true talent level(whether that's star, scrub, or somewhere in between) that he hasn't had yet this season. What's the issue here?

Yeah, I don't have a problem letting him play out the season if it makes everyone feel better. And I would be interested to see what last year's astronomical hr/fb rate levels out at. But I agree with Mojo; I think we've already seen what he's likely to do...and it's not good.

That's quite a little bitchy response from you. Crying about me highlighting negative aspects.

Colvin was a 780 OPS hitters in the minors with a sub 200 IsoP, he had like a 950 OPS early in 2010 before fading, but he still ended up with an OPS well over his career minor league numbers due to a IsoP of 250. His total career numbers to date now are a little closer in line with what you could have reasonably expected such a player to do in the majors to this point. The 2010 numbers were inflated and did not earn him any short of extended look of playing like crap this year. He had a chance. He still has a chance. Claiming that Colvin hasn't had an opportunity is nonsense.

Colvin's minor league past is completely irrelevant to the question of whether 100 PAs this year(or even 500 PAs over 2 years) is a proper sample to make decisions on his capabilities as a major leaguer.

Guess I missed it, someone got ejected?

Colvin was called out on strikes on a pitch that was off the inside corner. He yelled something out and then turned and walked toward the dugout while continuing to say something. He never appeared to direct anything at Bob Davidson, but Davidson decided to follow him back to the dugout anyway and then eject him. Quade then came out and argued/discussed things with Davidson for awhile, then turned and walked back toward the dugout and had seemingly finished his argument. After about 3 steps toward the dugout, Davidson ejected him too. Of course Brenly was all over Davidson "injecting himself" into the game and I have to agree. The ejections were both completely unnecessary.
