Watching the CUBS these days is only marginally more fun than root canal.

I don't know, I've had a root canal and some days I think I'd rather sit through that again than watch this sucktacular team.

Got to love how terrible manager throwing our All Star SS under the bus for losing a ball in the damn sun. Come the [expletive] on Quade. "The sun is in the same spot every damn day" Really?

#Cubs Quade on veterans: "I think our veterans are doing a pretty damn good job. I see intensity from my CF, and Rami's playing really well

"I look back at this whole game and look at that play," Quade says of Castro play. "The sun's been in the same damn spot..." #Cubs

"I need to talk to the kids in the middle of the diamond about that," #Cubs Quade says about first inning.

#Cubs Quade points to Castro misplay in first as a key to bad day

Dempster pitched 3 poor innings, Ortiz and Grabow each surrendered homers and Pena committed 2 errors, but whatever. The veterans are doing a pretty damn good job. This one's on Castro and Barney.

What the [expletive], Quade?

Making Castro the scapegoat worked for him last year. He probably figures there's no harm in doing it again.

In all seriousness, what the hell Quade?

Posted

Just... Wow.

I thought one of the benefits of shifting from Lou to Quade is that we were going to at least have a half-conscious manager sitting in the dugout. Wrong again.

If it comes down to Castro or Quade, think its a no brainer. Yup, Starlin Castro to Toronto for Jason Frasor and a PTBNL.

Personally, I'd fire Quade.

Yeah, lets just throw the future of the franchise under the bus for no damned reason there, Quade. That's a great way to keep your guys wanting to play for you.

Idiot.

Me too, not sure what WSR is thinking.

Jason Frasor isn't even that good. And we all know PTBNL's almost never amount to anything.

Remember the Cubs hitting approach just 3 short years ago? Second in the majors in walks.

Now they're tied for last in the majors in walks. Put that together with also being (by far) worst in the majors in pitchers issuing walks, and that makes for a bad combination for winning.

2008, and to a lesser extent 2007 were the clear outliers of the past decade. People talk about the Cubs "waiting for the three run homer". That's nonsense, they don't wait for anything.

Not that this team would be patient under anyone, but it'd be really cool if we hadn't scapegoated the hitting coach of those 07 and 08 teams for no good reason halfway through 09.

It's a little known fact that Jim Hendry gets 100 lifetime scapegoats to sacrifice before he loses his job. It's in the contract.
