The adorable love letter Michael Jordan wrote to his high school sweetheart, Laquetta Robinson, is probably going to end up in a lawsuit. Ah, American love.

Jordan penned the apologetic, flattering note in perfect cursive and not-as-perfect spelling and left it for Robinson about 30 years ago, and she kept it in storage, never intending for it to go public. Somehow, though, the letter was sold in December 2004 for $5,100.66.

"That was between him and me," Robinson told WTVD. "Not anyone else. It wasn't for anyone else to have knowledge of it. That's something he wrote to me, at that time, out of his heart."

I can get on board with that. Rose was a good rookie PG in his rookie year, but he wasn't more than average overall in the NBA. He improved to top 50 in the NBA his second year, and top 5 in the NBA his third year.

EDIT: Oh, that's a projection for next year, and not a weighted average of the past 3 years? I think that's a little low for him, but it was a big jump this year.

Yeah, I was confused...I initially thought it was based on the last 3 years too. Rose might be a little low, but at least he's like 30 spots ahead of Rondo.... ;)

Apparently, Ron Artest is going to join the Cheshire Jets of the British Basketball League if the lockout knocks off some or all of the season. The British Basketball League is ranked 29/29 in European basketball leagues according to FIBA.

This is how excited these people are for World Peace to join their [expletive] league.

‘we are honoured that Ron has even mentioned the prospect of joining The Jets, financially we have nothing to offer him but it would be so significant for UK basketball we have offered him a stake in the club and all the love in the world! To have a genuine NBA superstar even considering coming to The BBL as massive news for our sport and could be the launch pad we need in this country to give the sport the profile it deserves, it might even get the BBC interested in showing the sport!’

Edit: I started looking at the Jets roster to see if I actually recognized anyone, and the first name I came across was former DePaul great Quemont Greer. That's awesome. Also on the team was the great Calvin Davis who averaged 13 PPG for Texas A&M back in 1998.

i thought he said he was gonna be a cop after he retired

Him and a million security guards would love to know of any municipalities hiring if you know any.

Pair him up with Steven Seagal.

From Shaq's book:

In early March some of the guys went to the museum of Fine Arts for a fund-raiser and got to hang with President Barack Obama. Everyone was a little bit in awe. The President turns to Ray, points at Rondo, and says, “Hey, Ray, why don’t you teach this kid how to shoot?” Everyone starts laughing.

KG told me he saw the look on Rondo’s face and the kid was devastated, embarrassed. Dissed by the President, even though I’m sure Obama didn’t mean any harm. Rondo smiled and went along with all of it, but KG told me he could see it in his eyes. It bothered Rondo. It killed him.

The next day Rondo shot the ball horribly. He stopped taking shots after that. He’s so sensitive. I think it was a real jolt to hear the outside perception of a basketball fan who happens to be the President of the United States. It messed with his mind. I’m sure of it.

Nice diss of Rondo's shooting coming from a guy whose favorite current player is Derrick Rose.

/SSR likely response

If I could change the word replacement filters to key off individuals, I'd make it so that any time SSR typed in Derrick Rose it would replace it with "MVP".

CBS Sports ranks their top 100 players, 10 per day.

Today they posted 6-10, and Rose isn't there, while Durant and Kobe are. Looks like the top 5 is LeBron, Howard, Wade, Dirk and Rose.

Weird. Most people have Rose in the 6-10 range, which I am typically fine with. I am a huge Rose homer but I have a hard time putting him ahead of Durant, but my homer kicks in when I acknowledge he could potentially have a higher ceiling than the level Durant is playing at now.

So does Durant
