Lets see if we can keep it up. Granted, their washed up pitcher who should have retired 3 years ago is better than our washed up pitcher who should have retired 3 years ago, but crazier things have happened.

I set the over/under at 4.

I don't think you understand how that works......

The 2003 series was awesome: Clemens going for win #300 vs. Wood, some scrub getting picked off 1st base to end the game, a bunch of other stuff I'm forgetting but I'm sure was also awesome...

Although there was that scary incident with Hee Seop Choi needing to be taken off the field via ambulance. I can't recall a play stoppage due to an injury that lasted that long before or since. It seemed like a good half hour or so.

Also, with Jeter's injury we miss out on history as there would have been a very good chance he could have gotten his 3,000th hit at Wrigley.

Odds of this series being as awesome as the last series the Yankees played at Wrigley?

Pretty doubtful, the Cubs were playing that like a playoff series. Plus it was the Cubs' first ever win over the Yankees.

Didn't Dusty make it so Prior/Wood/Z would all start in the series?

Yep. I remember that. Didnt make a ton of sense then either.

Side note - if anyone can beat the Yankees, I have faith its Douglas Davis! Go Cubs!

This is definitely an exciting series because it's the Yankees although Doug Davis against this team should be really fun to watch.

I'm holding out hope that the Brewers series was the beginning of us getting back in the race before the All Star Break.

I should know better than this, but if we go 18-6 before the All-Star break the Cubs will be back to 500.

That's...ambitious. I'll hope for 16-8, which could get us within 5 games or so.

That's what I'm hoping for, getting within 5-6 games to keep my interest for a good while.

After yesterday's game, the Cubs have 0 starting pitchers with ERA+ above 100(besides Cashner's 5.1 innings)

They only have 6 pitchers total with ERA+ above 100 and I'm not sure I would've guessed one of them with 15 guesses.

Wow, DeWitt is really batting 3rd? Brilliant.

Never said it was likely, but I couldn't help myself to start figuring out what they would need to get back to 500. I would love to see them go 16-8, but the lineup today for Cy Davis doesn't exactly lead to much hope to putting us one step closer to our first 3 game winning streak of the season.

We're most likely going to get slaughtered by the Yankees.

Alex Rogan: It'll be a slaughter!

Grig: That's the spirit!

Alex Rogan: No, MY slaughter!
