I wonder how long this can continue before Quade's seat starts to get hot. It's one thing to be outclassed, but quite another to just repeatedly shoot yourself in the foot with fundamentally unsound baseball.

The injuries have hurt, but this has been a rotten scene the whole way.

It would be really stupid of them to fire him.

As if being stupid would be breaking new ground. At this point I have no idea how things in the FO and field management are going to play out between now and the the end of next year.

And regardless of whether you think it would be a good idea, it's hard to argue that Quade hasn't been a severe disappointment.

His refusal to bring in marshall/wood/marmol unless we have the lead is very dumb...we use our good relievers today and we probably win the game...we give the opponent all momentum by bringing in the trash in every tied/close game

He's likely gone in October anyway.

I'm not trying to argue otherwise. One of the reasons I wanted Quade was that he could easily fall on the sword thanks to his short deal over a time of (hopefully) serious transition in his two seasons. Mainly I wanted him so that Sandberg would [expletive] off, but right now I have zero problem keeping him through this mess of a season. If they want to fire him after this season is done and then hire someone new during the (again, hopefully) good offseason then great.

30,450 on Memorial Day with 85 degree temps?

You're right; I'm surprised it wasn't lower.

Believe it or not..... that's the 4th lowest attendance total going back through the 2005 season; a total of 515 dates.....

Good. Scare the Ricketts into making some critical moves before next season.

Hopefully it's more of a 'drop ticket prices' set of moves than a 'desperation to boost attendance' set of moves.

Wait what?

Andy wants to be able to afford tickets instead of signing good players.

Where are you pulling this ridiculous idea from? I can afford tickets just fine. I'd just like to avoid another offseason where we end up saddled with 4-5 absurd contracts we can't get rid of. Like, I don't know, right now.
