While Campana is nothing special with the bat, it sure is nice to have a legitimate base stealing threat for a change.

I ask because I really don't know: Why is Campana nothing special with the bat? He's hit well above .300 in his last two minor league seasons. I've never seen him play before he came up. Is there something that suggests he's a medicore hitter?

The guy has no pop whatsoever. Even Sam Fuld hit for a bit of power in the minors.

But if someone has truly elite speed, I don't really want him trying to hit the ball in the air that much anyway.

he strikes out too much for a guy who can't punish a pitcher's mistakes beyond hitting a single. 105 K's in 161 minor league games between last year and this one.

Brett Wallace looks like he should be wearing overalls on a porch in a rocking chair with a banjo in one hand and a jug of moonshine in the other.
nothing wrong with that, just look at me

by the look of disgust on geo's face, that may be pretty bad...he looked as if he was thinking, "dammit back to the DL"

why did soriano leave the game? are we going to need another of called up?

Strained something running to first on a groundout.

Our guys are dropping faster than those brats in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

We won't even be able to have a proper fire sale because all of our moveable pieces will be on the DL.

i cant wait to hear BB in september if things keep going the way they have been, its only may and he sounds utterly disgusted by this team

I wonder how long this can continue before Quade's seat starts to get hot. It's one thing to be outclassed, but quite another to just repeatedly shoot yourself in the foot with fundamentally unsound baseball.

The injuries have hurt, but this has been a rotten scene the whole way.

Not that I want to agree with BB but that throw to 3B which allowed the runner to advance to 2B was atrocious. This is one of the worst fundamental Cubs teams I can remember. Who managed these guys down in the minors anyway?

We weren't doing so hot with everyone healthy, but as things are now, its getting ha ha bad real quick. I'm predicting a top 5 pick.

I was actually making a jab at Quade, but you're right about that.

Just watched the highlights... so sad to see the bleachers empty in the 1st inning... the combination of outrageous ticket prices and a really bad team make this whole thing just a disaster.

If I can tell that's a balk, that's pretty bad on the umps.

I can't believe the crowd didn't make more noise about this. Campana clearly stole a run there.

Not the greatest result for my first trip to Wrigley in ~6 years.

It would be really stupid of them to fire him.

As if being stupid would be breaking new ground. At this point I have no idea how things in the FO and field management are going to play out between now and the the end of next year.

And regardless of whether you think it would be a good idea, it's hard to argue that Quade hasn't been a severe disappointment.
