Demps has been on a pretty solid run as of late after his horrible start to the year and hopefully keeps it up as our rotation is an endless nightmare filled with despair and misery. Also, after Byrd and apparently Baker, who will be the next to get hurt?

Well, I'd do the whole pitchers stats/picture/attempts at humor schtick but this team doesn't really warrant the effort. Instead, I vote we think of suggestions to help all of us distract ourselves from the Cubs. I just started reading A Game of Thrones: A Song of Ice and Fire and it's pretty great. In case you've been ignoring TV entirely for the last month and a half, it serves as the basis for the HBO show Game of Thrones which is easily the best thing on TV with Justified/Mad Men/Breaking Bad on hiatus. Plus, there's a chair made entirely out of swords:

Bitchin'

So perhaps go give this a read/viewing, if only to drown out the endless injury parade that is our team.

Random Note: Should the Cubs somehow win or something, I may or may not be able to start Wednesday's thread as I'm doing a bit inter-continental travel and am too lazy to work out the time differences in regards to when I'll be able to post on Wed.

for some reason i thought the mets' record was much worse than it is. i guess i stopped paying attention when they were 4-11 or whatever in april.

I feel like they are our big market clone. Lots of high priced aging talent. Except they have Reyes and Wright and we have Castro and....Brett Jackson? Oh and also they are broke and we are just frugal (for now).

They've also got Davis and Beltran rockin' it.

This is random, but I never considered that the Mets logo came about by using the blue of the Brooklyn Dodgers, and the orange NY baseball Giants NY logo.

I have no idea why that never dawned on me until now, but that's pretty damn cool.

Soto.

Is he still around?

Here and there. When Koyie Hill isn't being awesome.

I don't care enough to check whether or not the standings are all updated for Monday's games yet or not, but as of right now, only the Astros, Padres, Dodgers, and Twins have lower winning percentages than the Cubs.

I thought they sent him to the Orioles for a 27 year old AAA outfielder.

And the pinstripes from the Yankees (for the jerseys, not logo, of course).
