Castro is just a beast. Anyone know where I find find a spray chart of his?

In my pants.

Now that is well done. Horrifying, but well done.

Heh. I questioned myself on that one but just couldn't let it go.

actually from your post, it sounds like you did let it go.

bullpen is such a joke

Seriously, go [expletive] yourself. Your posts are insanely stupid.

personal attack much?

"Attack the argument, not the poster" is dead, buried, and decomposed.

Now back home against San Diego... This start hasn't been terrible by any means, but it sure would be nice to put a 2 or 3 game winning streak together and start to get on the positive side of .500.

It's gonna be tough with half of our rotation hurt to get too much momentum going. Just hang around.

Great game sans the 1st and 8th innings.

I like Marlon Byrd. Productive player. good clubhouse guy. steal of a contract. A lot of managers would be happy to have him on their team. This being said, Marlon is the type of guy who would be the first to tell you that he has no business hitting 3rd in a major league lineup. Its about as much Marlon Byrds fault that hes hitting 3rd as it is John Grabows fault that hes being paid 3.5 million dollars.

Bull [expletive]. I only attacked the posts. The first part was an instruction for self-improvement.

the way pena is "hitting" i don't really want him at #4.

The only other viable options are Geovany Soto, and the Cubs never like batting him earlier than 6th, or cloning Starlin Castro and we havnt perfected that kind of technology yet.

So bat Soriano there right now.

on the plus side, the cardinals suffered another painful loss today, taking the lead in the top of the 9th (scoreless duel between carpenter and billingsley for most of the game) then losing on an ethier double (off trever miller) and a home run (off now steroid-less ryan franklin)

I know it is early but Dempster needs to get his [expletive] together.

He had been fine apart from outings where he was left in way too long before today. Bad outings will happen against the Rockies' offense, and the others were basically Quade's fault.

He had been fine apart from outings where he was left in way too long before today. Bad outings will happen against the Rockies' offense, and the others were basically Quade's fault.

In his first start he had given up 4 runs after 5 innings to the Pirates

In his second start he had given up 5 runs after 5 innings to the Diamondback.

How soon did you want Quade to pull him in these two games? Asking him to get through 5 innings is too much?

I will concede to you that Quade left him in too long in his third start against the Astros but honestly he knew that Quade needed him to go deep in that game since they had the Russell bullpen game the next day and against a week Houston lineup he couldn't even get through the seventh without running out of gas.

In the start today he had given up 5 runs through 4 innings.

He has had the advantage of playing against three pretty offensively challenged teams (PIT, ARI, HOU) and hasn't really had a good start yet except maybe the HOU start and in that one threw too many pitches early and ran out of gas.
