Apparently Oprah has the United Center booked for Mon and Tues. So if we can't get game 1 of the ECF in on Sunday, it'll have to wait until Wednesday.

Even Reinsdorf doesn't have confidence in this team.

Haha.

Based on the last 2 years, I'm sure they would wait until Wednesday most likely. It doesn't seem like the NBA wants the conference Finals to start on the same day as another series has game 7, like they do between round 1 and round 2.

2010:

ECF: Orlando finished their sweep of Atlanta on a Monday, and Boston finished their series on a Thursday, and they ended up playing Game 1 on that following Sunday. 2 days of rest for Boston and 5 for Orlando.

WCF: The Lakers swept their series, which ended on a Monday, and Phoenix swept their series and it ended the day before on a Sunday. Based on the fact that all conference finals ended on Thursday, they could have easily made the WCF start on a Saturday or even a double header on Sunday, but they made both teams wait over a week until they started the following Monday. 6 days of rest for LA and 7 for Phoenix.

2009:

ECF: Cleveland swept their series against Atlanta and the series ended on a Monday. Orlando had to play 7 games to get by Boston and their series ended on a Sunday. They ended up playing game 1 the next Wednesday. Orlando had 9 days off between games, and Boston had 2.

WCF: The Lakers beat the Rockets in 7 games, with the series ending on Sunday. The Nuggets took care of the Mavs in 5 games and their series ended on a Wednesday. Their series started on the next Tuesday, giving LA 1 day of rest and Denver 5 days.

Based on how things look now, the earliest all series could be done is Friday. Based on this situation, I find it hard to believe they rush the ECF to start Sunday, but who knows. If the either the Hawks or Celtics win or OKC/Memphis goes 7, then obviously it looks like the CF would start on Wednesday.

Keep in mind that the ECF are on TNT as well. I think a Wednesday start is much more likely than a Sunday start if both the Bulls and Miami win their next game.

Thats funny...the Bulls could go all the way to the NBA Finals without playing 1 game on network TV (ABC)

The NBA released schedules and scenarios for the remaing playoff series and first games of the conference finals on Wednesday.

If the Bulls lose Thursday's Game 6 in Atlanta, Sunday's Game 7 at the United Center will tip off at 7 p.m. Chicago time.

If the Bulls can close out the Hawks on Thursday and the Heat eliminate Boston in Wednesday night's Game 5, then the Eastern Conference Finals will begin 7 p.m. Sunday at the United Center and be televised on TNT.

If a Game 6 or 7 is necessary in the Celtics-Heat series, then the Eastern Conference Finals would begin Wednesday.

That's kind of what I figured, if Sunday was available in any way they'd jump on it.

They'd better put conference finals tickets on sale quickly if they were going to hold a basketball game on Sunday potentially.

It's not like they're going to have any trouble selling out.

I'd reallllly appreciate the Bulls just blowing them out tonight. I don't need game 7 stress.

I really think they get it done tonight. I don't see a blowout, but I think they win pretty comfortably going away
