Well, we sort of expected whatever that was yesterday to happen. Some bad luck combined with inexperienced and bad pitching. On the bright side, we can win our 2nd series of the season tonight!

The Cubs trot out Big Z tonight:

He's 1-0 on the young season with a 5.25era and 1.50WHIP. As a fun aside, a Google Image search of Carlos Zambrano also provides a picture of this decent looking human

Let's play two indeed

The Astros counter with Wandy Rodriguez

He's 0-1, 6.55era and 1.64whip.

I like our chances tonight. Z has historically been pretty good in Houston and we are just a better team.

Let's go Cubs

ps. Blackhawks start at 9 :D

Heh, the three-headed monster at 2B owns Wandy.

Maybe a good time to give Castro his first day off.

Barney at SS and Baker at 2B?

Works for me.

I'm not in favor of giving Castro a day off for any reason that doesn't specifically center around Castro. Though I certainly Enjoyed Jeff Baker day and wouldn't mind seeing a repeat.

Any time I say Wandy's full name, I can't help but to do it in this voice:

Zambrano beats this punk today. Cubs win 6-1.

Really tiring of Barney at the top of the order. Should start Baker and then Castro, unless Quade has decided to keep Starlin at the top forever.

I copied and pasted the lineups from elsewhere. Hell if I know why that guy uses that sign to denote right-handed.

That might be an even better idea.

Not going to start an "other games" thread, but holy crap, the White Sox bullpen [expletive] the bed again. Up 4-1 in the 9th and, I believe, Thornton gives up 3 runs and then 3 more in the 10th. And Pierre had his 3rd error in LF again (though it was earlier in the game). Gonna tune in for the hopefully epic Ozzie meltdown.

I think Sale's time as closer may be coming sooner rather than later.

Heh, check that, because my post was wrong; Sale was responsible for the 3 runs in the 9th (or at least loaded the bases before he was pulled). Thornton then pitched the 10th and gave up 10 himself. Hysterical.
