Come on, Izzo isn't defending Weber because he knows he's bad for the Illinois program. He's known him for 20 years back to when they were Big Ten assistants.

 

I don't think anyone actually thinks that. It's obvious that they're bffs and that's why he's been so vocal.

 

Also, I don't get the problem with saying "we'll address it at the end of the season". If an AD/whatever isn't actually committed to you, why would you want him to say he is? So you can be blindsided at the end of the season? So everyone can play some silly game of pretending things aren't really as they are? That's just stupid.

 

And if Bruce and/or his coaching are so fragile that being told his job status will be assessed later precipitated a total team collapse (which I don't believe for a second)...well then he should have been fired long ago. I'd rather be told my job is in jeopardy than to be mollycoddled with BS platitudes.

Not surprising. Outside of Leonard (probably) we won't see any attrition, imo. Keeping Snacks is the key, and he appears inclined to stay.

Northwestern started the day as the 2nd team out of Lunardi's bracket and at the end of the day they are now not even in the top 8 teams out.

The "SEC" chant last night by Mizzou fans was just embarrassing.

I really don't like the SEC chant, but in the case of using it as a middle finger to the Big 12, I can understand it.

 

On a related note, I saw this morning that Mizzou would be the first BCS school ever to win 30 games and not get a 1 seed. Should've scheduled more bad teams instead of really bad teams in the non-con I guess.
