Without even clicking that link, I'll ask: who won the Big Ten that year?

and i remember bobby knight wetting his pants when we got the #1 seed.

Ha. That was a really great Illini team. And maybe Knight's best-ever coaching job (and that is saying a lot).

Illini fans, what did Lon Kruger do to get run out of Champaign?

He was hired by the Atlanta Hawks? I'd hardly consider that being run out of Champaign.

Who does Illinois have coming up? Excited for the Arch Rivalry game this year, should be a great one.

UNLV is the next big test

If they lose to Coppin State tomorrow, I'll know who to blame.

I didn't know. Thanks. Anyway, he's been pretty good so far for OU.

Storming the court is always [expletive] awesome

Absolutely.

Yancey Gates has gotta be done for the year.

Not sure of the names but 34 ( who threw the sucker punch) and 23 (I think he was the one who kicked the Xavier player) should both be done for the year.

Jesus Christ, I just heard Tu Holloway's comments after the fight, at the official press conference. After what happened on the court he deserves an extra game or two just for his stupid comments. 'We're a locker room full of gangsters'. REALLY? REALLY? Great representative of Xavier University.

There's nothing more gangster than a Jesuit school.

no kidding, I was shocked when I heard his comments. No doubt that Cincinnati's coach was much better post game.

Now he just does that because he can't make it to the bathroom on time.

Yeah, led by that guy who's homeless now.

I thought they were led by the guy who tapped Palin, with a lot of other really good parts. It is something to think about a time when Big Ten basketball was far and away the best in the country.

Illini pull away late to win a closer-than-the-final-score-indicates 80-63 win that was somehow 59-57 with 7 minutes to play.

I blame David Lo Pan.

One more thing of note tonight: Murray State won at Memphis to go to 10-0. This is notable in that it will be the very last time Murray State plays a top 150 team until the NCAA tournament.

they hit some ridiculous shots to pull within 2, the game was never really in doubt. they had no answer for stretch armstrong.
