(not watching) Any indication on the injury? elbow? shoulder?

Len and Bob were speculating shoulder but there really was very little indication of what it was.

Cashner didn't grab anything, but Len and Bob think its fatigue in the shoulder. Cashner didn't even look into the dugout he just turned to go back to the mound, the trainer saw something came out and talked to him.

The D'Backs announcers are supposedly speculating that it's a blister problem.

We can only hope.

On a scale of Nolan Ryan to Dave Dravecky, what was Cashner's reaction to his shoulder injury?

Was he grimacing and rubbing it or writhing on the infield in pain?

I'd love him as a starter but if he's not a guy who can regularly make 100 pitch outings lets cut our losses and put him back in the pen.

If its blisters

(a) That would be great

(b) He would have even a little more in common with Kerry.

Not at all. His arm dropped oddly after the pitch but other than that no real indication as to what happened.

He dropped his shoulder. That's it. Didn't rub it, didn't flop his arm around like he was trying to get it to loosen up.

Well, I'd have to imagine Wood and Marmol are unavailable today. Marshall had a shortened outing yesterday, but it was his third day in a row as well.

Looks like this is up to Samardzija, Russell, Mateo, and Grabow.

Wow...1st game of the year and we're already talking about putting him in the pen. Even if he doesn't come out due to an injury, I don't think you pitch him past the 6th anyway.

"Hey Silv...have you read the papers lately? No? Oh...well that whole 'cut from the team' thing, that was all a joke. We've been looking all over for you since then. Sorry for the mixup. Can you start in 5 days?......wait...you've gained 40 pounds in a week?....and you did WHAT to a hooker?...umm....ok well just get over here, we'll get it straightened out with the cops."

Samardzija for two, Russel/Mateo, then Grabow. That's what I'm imagining, anyway.
