3 ground ball outs. The first one had some zip on it. The last two were lazy. Colvin with a nice job fielding the grounder to him and covering 1st in the first inning.

Well, do you guys expect Soto to play everyday?

Hill might be Cashner's personal catcher.

I fully expect him to be. It seems very Cubs to make sure the rookie pitcher has a veteran defense-oriented catcher behind the dish for his starts.

Holy God.

What is that, 3 or 4 times Aramis has had one off the bat that looked gone?

Frustrating, but it's ideally a sign that big things will come soon and he'll have a good year.

Plus one of the things that Hill was credited for in the offseason was helping Cashner specifically.

The Cubs are getting pretty good swings early. It's also nice to see that after Ramirez was striking out much more than normal during his slump last year he has 0 strikeouts so far this year.

Yeah, Aramis was just wretched the first part of last year. He looked awful at the plate. At least so far this year he's getting hits and seeing the ball well.

Eh, if it helps Cashner (or he thinks it helps him) then just schedule Hill's starts for most of Cashner's.

Gameday clocked Cashner's fastball over 94 mph.

Comcast just had him hitting 96. It's really impressive how he hits those speeds with it looking pretty effortless.
