For the love of all that is good and holy, can we please talk about expanding the DL again?

thanks for taking care of Chuck's situation, Brian - much appreciated!

I am going to be switching out Jeremy Guthrie for Colby Lewis. Guthrie got hospitalized for pneumonia and was released yesterday, I think. He'll be missing at least his expected start today, and is doubtful for later, so am subbing Lewis, who's start isn't until 4/8.

Remember, you can rotate starters in and out all that you want, but you cannot exceed 8 starts this week and 7 the other weeks.

Unless he was injured you're not allowed to remove him from your lineup midweek in the first place. Other than starting pitchers lineups are set at the start of the week and cannot be changed except for special situations like being injured or sent to the minor leagues, or unless you make a trade midweek. You cannot make midweek changes because a player is sucking or because his team is off that day.

It doesn't look to me like he's supposed to be eligible at 2B, since he hasn't played that position since 2009. I'm not sure why he would have been listed as eligible at 2B in the first place, unless that was a carryover from last year (he would have been eligible at 2B last year based on his playing time in 2009). It may be that he was already in the lineup at 2B when you took over the team.

Yeah, that must be it. That has to suck to find out midweek that your 2b isn't allowed to be a 2b. But, since he wasn't supposed to be moved anyway........

I guess we will need a ruling on how this one should be handled for the rest of this week. As I look at Bob's live scoring roster, he currently shows two people at 3b today with one of them having an off day today.

Do we take away any points McGehee scores today and then place him on the bench for the rest of the week?

I'm leaving early tomorrow for the weekend, so this will need to be resolved today.

I'd tend to give a bit of benefit of the doubt to a rookie; this is my 7th season in the league and I'm still not sure I have all of the nuances of the rules down. I think he should know that midweek changes aren't allowed unless for specified exceptions such as injury, but I don't hold him responsible for not knowing McGehee isn't eligible at 2B since he was active at the start of the season; that seems to me to be a CBS glitch, not Bob's fault. How about reversing the lineup swap, counting McGehee's points at 2B (but not the replacement's) for this week, then requiring him to use McGehee at 3B or U or bench him starting next week? That would give him a fair chance to find a replacement if desired.

agreed! I know I made a couple of these sorts of errors last year, so glad I'm not the only one. :-)

lincecum and rivera have scored FORTY [expletive] PERCENT of nccub's points. unreal.
Unfortunately that's due as much to the ineptness of the rest of my team this week as to the awesomeness of Lincecum and Mo.

I wasn't talking about all of McGehee's points. I'm talking about now while he has a replacement person at 2b and now two starting 3b's in his line up. I'm fine with the points earned and the replacement player's points, but I can't allow McGehee and Sandoval to collect points at the same position. He needs to decide which 3b he wants for the rest of the week, and if it's Sandoval, then the points McGehee earns today get wiped out.

The other option would be to bench Figgins (who he has at 2b now and just stick with Alvarez and McGehee both at the 3b positions, as that is technically what he started with anyway. Figgins had an off day today, so he has yet to accumulate points.

great so i'm stuck with [expletive] chone figgins as my 2b the rest of the year? fantastic.

does anyone want casey mcgehee, he's now completely useless.

Only until the end of the week. You can make substitutions each week before the week actually starts (monday is the start of a new week).

If or once McGehee gains eligibility at 2b, you are welcome to put him there.

i assumed he had eligibility because going into the season it said (2B, 3B) next to his name. now it says (3B).

anyway i won't have him on my team much longer so if he gains eligibility at 2B someone else can/will have him.

i'm likely having a firesale by like mid-may if there are players on my team that anyone wants.

Damn it. Should have traded Ubaldo, not Lincecum.

I may not have worded it clearly, but this is what I had in mind. Basically treating it as if the midweek switch never happened.

Someone that has Commissioner access needs to remove Carlos Zambrano from Chuck's lineup. He already has reached his 8 starts for the week with Dickey's start this afternoon.

I hope we're not going to have to police him all year. He took over 24 hours to make his pick in both rounds of the prospect draft, he illegally placed Holliday on his DL, and now this. I don't know what his job situation is, but I wonder if he's really able to keep up with the league.
