Listening to St. Louis radio, they've done a complete 180 on their Theriot love. They don't even care how "good his bat is" he just CANNOT play SS.

Look, I live in St. Louis and don't find that remotely hard to believe. Between the blue hairs and the rednecks, there are so many "sheep" in Cardinal nation (yeah, just puked in my mouth a little there) that it's not remotely surprising that somebody would try to make that argument. Not to mention there's really just a lot of dumb people out there, and I'm not just talking about Cards fans.

Next time, I suggest taking a gander over to these parts, where they could learn the reality before going through a months-long delusional period of thinking a player is something that he isn't.

I was just calling BS because if the person is enough of a baseball fan to know who Starlin Castro is I can't imagine how they'd actually believe that. But on the other hand, a lot of baseball fans are stupid. There's Cardinal fans that think that Jon Jay has made Colby Rasmus expendable and that Rasmus for 2 months of Edwin Jackson and Matt Thornton is a good deal.

Unfortunately, this is very true. I was at a 4th of July BBQ, and a Cubs conversation started, and the topic of why the Cubs suck so bad this year came up. Sure enough, a self proclaimed Cubs fan said that "we never shoulda gotten rid of Theriot." Needless to say, the words "gritty", "hustle", and "team player" came up. I wanted to punch this guy in the face. It's impossible to talk sensical baseball with some people. That's why I like to stick to NSBB. :D

I think it's a great idea. You should pry throw in Shelby Miller to make sure you get Jackson. How else are you gonna win the awesome NL Central this year?

Goodness, I just looked and Brendan Ryan is hitting .261/.322/.330 and has a 2.1 bWAR. He's going to contribute more with his glove than Theriot will on offense.

 

But Brendan Ryan's stache makes me want to punch him in the face.
