Why is Koyie Hill getting so many ABs? Give them to Ramirez/Castillo, plz.

That pretty much confirms there's not much of a competition for that spot (which was suspected anyway).

If Wells's spot wasn't secured already he's doing a very good job securing it.

And Cashner is giving the Cubs no reason to pick him for the 5th spot. I'm not sure who else is, but I doubt they pick Cashner if everybody is terrible.

If Hill continues sucking this badly, how can it continue? I assumed they had him slotted into the backup catcher's role, but if he only gets a hit or two all spring, how can they justify it? It's not like there aren't better alternatives staring them in the face.

Does J.Jackson have any chance of getting a relief spot out of ST?

I think he has a better chance than most people might think, especially given last season's starter-reliever-starter flip-flop fiasco. He hit a wall at AAA and seems to have fallen off a number of people's radars. He has the stuff to be a quality relief pitcher, plus there doesn't seem to be any shortage of openings with this team's bullpen.

My money is on him repeating AAA as a starter, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Cubs called him up to the pen at some point this season.

That's between 16-20 percent of his total spring innings even if he stays in the rotation all the way through the end of spring. And there's no guarantee he'll get that long of look. I'm rooting for him to win the spot but he better be impressive in his next couple of outings. I don't think the Cubs will pick him unless he actively wins the job during spring. He doesn't have to be great, but he has to be good.

Nice to have at least one game telecast that doesn't conflict with conference tournaments or the NCAA tournament.

You definitely have an excuse, you from NC, and I work with a guy from Raleigh and he is nuts about NC basketball, for me I didn't think there was any other sports on today.

Love seeing green grass

It's nice to have a game on TV, but almost all of the players I wanted to see are in the other game.

Cubs are getting 1 hit by the Reds.

And we're about to see Marmol!

1 hit or no, I'd rather see Castro, Jackson, Colvin and Pena. I suppose we get to see Soto, but still.
