I'd be scared if I was a Packers fan. I feel like everyone is picking the Packers but most people whole admit its expected to be a really close game. Considering the Packers track record in really close games, I am not sure why GB is the overwhelming favorite.

Plus imagine how easy it is to use the "nobody believed in us" card when you are the number 1 seed playing at home where you are 20-2 in the last 3 seasons and everyone is picking against you for the 6 seed on the road.

Atlanta is 2.5 point favorites.

That's up...I think they opened as 1 point favs.

I didn't mean in Vegas. I meant in everyone I hear predict the game.

I've seen 2.5 from the start.

I just don't see how you can say everybody is picking GB and they are the overwhelming favorite.

Because every website I've seen so far that picks the games has picked GB and every radio show I've heard is picking GB too. I cannot honestly remember one person picking ATL that I've heard/seen. That is what I meant by everybody. I'm sure lots of gamblers are picking Atlanta, as the line has gone up since it opened. I'm not interested in a semantics discussion beyond that.

Even if that were true (which I'm not sure it is) it's easy to see why the Packers are being picked. If people think it's a close game, you pick the road team because it looks better for you if you pick an upset than just picking the #1 seed. There are more Packer fans out there so they could be placating those fans. And many people also look ahead and see that Packers-Bears is the most scintillating championship matchup and that could also be their tiebreaker on who to pick between the Packers-Falcons because they want to see that game next week.

This is certainly going to be a tough game for sure. IF, and only IF the Packers can keep up the run game like they did last week, I think they'll win. If not, Atlanta advances. However, if they get past this game I think they go to the Super Bowl, IMO. They can go on the road and beat either Seattle or the Bears.

What, you mean like last week?

I'll say the same thing for this week's game that I said for the game against Philly. If we lose the game, it's not going to be because "everyone picked us."

If they don't, we better be getting some of the best posts from you to date. It will take a lot to top week 3.

As I've said before, I do not regret one single word I typed on Week 3. I stand by every single thing I said that week.

And unfortunately I'm scheduled to work during the NFC Championship game. But I'll be around after.

I'm not at all embarrassed by it. What's more embarrassing is someone lurking in the shadows and popping up to respond to most of the things I post here, as if they have nothing better to do.

I'd like a summary. I didn't read that thread.

I pretty much said that the Packers lost that game instead of the Bears winning because of the 6,000 penalty yards and the Bears could only still squeak out a 3-point win in the final minute. Everyone got all butthurt about it and resorted to childish insults even though if the situation would have been reversed (The Bears with all the penalties and the Packers winning with a late FG) there would have been a few that felt the same way I did. The end.

(prepares for the inevitable flamewar)

That's a poor summary.

It's accurate.

Here's the thread: http://www.northsidebaseball.com/forum/topic?f=44&t=58319&

But I think this summarizes it best.

he's still not afraid.

You're right. I'm not. Because I know in my heart the Packers are the superior team. At the end of the season the records will prove it.

You can imagine the 10 or so pages that followed.

That was some of the most fun I've ever had on this website. Damn do some people get worked up easily (yes, I speak from experience). It's like poking a pissed-off dog in a cage with a pointy stick just to see how mad you can get it.

(note: I have never engaged in, nor do I condone that sort of animal abuse)

I thought it was more like watching a monkey throw it's own poop.
