Trading away Luck with the Golden boy and Moore as the option doesn't make sense regardless of their holes. Luck is better than either Manning, when they were coming out of college. Better than Ryan, Rivers, etc

More from La Canfora:

Continue to hear Jim Harbaugh they're top candidate. Spoke to a source today who think 49ers will be viable option

"They're" (ouch) refers to the 49ers.

I don't know where you're getting that. Everything I've read says that Luck is comparable, not better.

I think if Harbaugh wants to be a college coach, he should go to Ann Arbor; but, if he wants to coach in the NFL, he should take the 49ers job. I really don't know where his heart lies. The 49ers could be a good place to land. They have a decent nucleus in place and play in a division where it wouldn't take much of a turn around for them to be in the playoffs and then go from there.

Good teams rarely fire their coaches, so this might be the best it gets as far as a quick turnaround.

From what I've seen everything as far as accuracy, pro offense systems, and understanding defense are both off the charts but Luck has more arm strength than P Manning, basically putting Leaf's arm strength into Manning's body.

Rumors have Caple being out in Oakland. Which would be a mistake.

Yeah, I mentioned near the start of this thread that I was surprised that he was gonna get the boot. It's the best season that Oakland has had since the SB run.

Cable isn't really a guy that's going to have teams beating down his door though. I wonder if he would go back to the college ranks.

Maybe Oakland will bring back Gruden!

Would Harbaugh want to coach SF without Luck? If they somehow managed to trade up today I think he would go to SF, but I dont see that happening. Plus I don't think Carolina should pass on him either.

I can't see Harbaugh basing his decision on if he could get Luck or not? Surely SF needs a QB, but this draft has a few projects. I would think he could coach one of those up.

Schefter:

Cleveland and Carolina submitted interview requests to New York to interview Giants defensive coordinator Perry Fewell.

Rooney rule or serious interviews?

Now comes time for coordinator moves, too: Houston fired its defensive coordintor Frank Bush.

In Houston, members of the Titans front office are meeting

I find this really funny.

It's really strange that everything originates from Houston still, but it doesn't because Bud doesn't want to move to Nashville.

Not that I think Cable is a lock to be back, but the Raiders went through this whole thing last year - with Cable supposedly being fired, supposedly having meetings with Davis that may or may not have happened - but returned for 2010.

Basically, I have no idea what's going to happen. There's no reason Cable shouldn't be back and it would be a huge mistake if Davis fires him.

so, does the Packers making the playoffs secure McCarthy's stay? I hope so...

He wasn't getting fired, even if we lost yesterday.

no, you're right. I remember that discussion now. It was instead you wished he would get replaced.
