Without doing a bunch of hunting around, what's the status in a basic nutshell?

If we beat the Packers on Sunday, we own a first round bye and the Pack is out of the playoffs, or do they still have a shot at getting in even if we beat them?

What channel is today's game on and is it only on satellite like the Lions/Vikings game?

I about fell out of my chair when I bit into that first Aurelio's pizza slice. California has no clue how to make good pizza.

Truth.

Packers will still get in if we beat them via losses by both the Giants and Bucs. If we do beat them, however, we are guaranteed to not play them again until the NFC Championship game.

Tonight's game is on NBC.

A win and the Bears can do no worse than 2. Packers are not necessarily eliminated with a loss.

Tonight is on NBC, the regular Sunday Night Football broadcast.

To be fair, the Bears offense has been much more consistent since the bye.

I don't know about that. They've been more dangerous, but not all that consistent. They scored 7 against New England. Cutler's struggled to get 200 passing yards, and the team has struggled to get 300 total. To be fair, they are always a threat to score, which is something the Bears generally never are. They have won the only 2 real shoot outs they have been in this year, and I'm not saying I have no hope for the playoffs or anything. This team can beat anybody in the league, and that still includes New England.

Like someone pointed out earlier...somewhere...I forget which thread and when....the Bears may not get a ton of yards because with their special teams, they end up with a short field so often. They don't have to put together a lot of long, sustained drives. In fact, Football Outsiders has the Bears offense with the #1 starting field position in the league.

LOS/Dr is average starting field position.

This isn't to say the offense is unbeatable, of course. But NE game aside, they've passed the eyeball test lately.

yes, but they have their yards per drive or drive success rate or whatever at 28.

Slightly truth, actually. From a lot of semi-inaccurate or accurate research, I've learned that it really isn't that they can't make a good pizza, but rather the water used to make the dough is so different, that it is impossible to recreate that same consistency and taste. It's partially why many of the great pizza places in Chicago have not expanded out west. A great pizza place in California could make an absolute killing.

If my information is correct, Aurelio's in Henderson actually gets their water for making their pizza crust from the midwest. Although there probably aren't many pizza places anywhere in the southwest that uses asiago cheese on their pizza to begin with, so even if they shipped their water in from the same place, Aurelio's secret ingredient still crushes all competition.

Raisin, Ct and other southwest folks should know about Aurelio's and the SUPER easy access and hardly out of the way to Las Vegas trip that it is.

Well yeah, yards per drive would be fewer because they have fewer yards needed to drive. But yeah, drive success rate is an issue. I wasn't excusing the offense from all of it's ills. Just pointing out that points scored is probably a better indicator than yards for this team.

Do they re-seed after the first round? I seem to remember this to be the case, but have heard nobody talk about the possibility when talking matchups.

Yes, the 1 seed will face the lowest seeded first round winner.

And points scored isn't impressive either. Also, if they are getting the benefit of better field position than anybody else, they should score at a greater rate than their offense "normally" would. This still indicates they are subpar.

Too many 2nd and 3rd and longs due to QB sacks that quickly kill drives.

GB is now 6.5 point favorites. Vegas is begging people to bet on the Bears.

This is a bad game for Vegas. Isn't there a chance that the Bears could have their position locked up before the game and that the starters could get pulled? Has Lovie commented on if he will do that yet?

I think Lovie said he wants to beat the Packers at all times and would be playing to win no matter what.

Congrats to the Packers on their division championship

?

congrats packers on the division.
and congrats, packers, on winning the division.
this season is over for the bears. the packers will not lose again on their way to the super bowl, which they will then win.
the packers are coming back here and are going to take control of the division with this drive right here, book it.
why are you here congratulating us? again, we haven't won the division and have some strange, hard games ahead of us. we most likely won't win the division as the packers will. they have an easier road.
bears will still lose and end up missing the playoffs while the packers soar in the playoffs as the wild card.
told ya, green bay packers, your 2010-11 nfc north, nfc, and nfl champions.

That wasn't the case in 2006.
