I'm hearing a lot of talk now about the Packers possibly taking OT Nate Solder out of Colorado if he's there at #32.

Well yeah...but he won't be.

There's a lot of talk about Dallas using it's 4th round pick on Newton if he falls that far

O-line be damned, if Patrick Peterson falls to #29, I think the Bears should draft him.

That's 15 yards for a late hit. The runner was clearly stopped at this point.

What does that translate to in NSBB wrist slaps?

Not much!

My forward momentum was carrying me into the post, I didn't have enough time to cancel.

NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora told a Miami radio show Thursday morning that he believes the Dolphins will draft Kaepernick with the 15th overall pick.

I'm probably as big a Kaepernick fan as there is out there, but 15 would be way, way too high for a guy who probably won't be ready to start for, at best, 2 seasons. A ton of upside, but way too raw to even consider before the early portion of the second round.

It's funny you say this, because I see him being viable as a starter before Cam Newton easily, yet people are fine with him being as high as #1. There aren't many question marks surrounding Kaepernick outside of level of competition that aren't shared by Newton.

Mort and Clayton now both saying Gabbert could quite possibly fall to 12. Dalton is going anywhere from 8-30. Ponder between 16-40. Kaepernick somewhere between 15-40. Mallett anywhere.

I want Locker at 12 or a trade down that results in Dalton.

Glazer is reporting that the Falcons have a deal with the Browns for the 6th overall pick.

It will only happen if the player they want is available.

Green?

WTF is the difference between Tebow and Newton?

Both are big, strong, athletic QBs with poor throwing motions out of stripped-down, easy offenses that played in the SEC against the best non-NFL competition there is and won a national title(s in Tebow's case) and a Heisman. Tebow at least has that "great leader" intangible, or whatever. While it's universally agreed on that Newton is a scam artist.

Everyone was shocked that Tebow went in the first round (rightfully so) and Newton is going to be the No. 1 pick? I don't see it.

Newton and Tebow are obviously similar, but Newton does pretty much everything better than Tebow. Stronger arm, more athletic, faster, better throwing motion, taller. I don't think Newton's throwing motion is all that funky either. It's not picture perfect, but I'm not that concerned about it translating to the NFL.

The best comparison I can think of for Newton is probably Steve McNair. Physically I see very similar QBs, though McNair never had work ethic questions. Newton does. Roethlisberger is another very good comparison, I think.

I think they are interested in either Jones or Peterson.

Just sayin', Goodell getting booed was kind of awesome.

even signing [expletive] Drew Stanton to an offer sheet with his original 2nd round tender seems like a smarter idea than reaching on any of these mentioned QBs and paying them slot money

Exactly. I'd rather "miss" on these 1st round QBs if I were these teams. Get a better prospect at a different position and you would be paying them closer to their actual value.

I realize nothing can happen yet, but I would take Vince Young over any of the guys not names Gabbert and Newton. And I would maybe take him over them as well.

I wouldn't unless I was convinced Vince would work hard. He hasn't shown the interest in putting in the work yet, so it doesn't matter how much talent he has. I'd definitely take Newton, Gabbert, Kaepernick and Ponder over him and I'd consider Dalton, Locker and Mallett as well. That is unless some of these wild rumors are true and you'd have to use the 15th pick on Kaep or the 8th pick on Ponder or something like that.

I'm not necessarily in favor of Newton at 1, though I don't think it'd be a terrible pick for a team. It's not a great pick for the Panthers, however.

That said, my concern with Kaep is that he's so much more raw at pretty much everything. While raw, Newton is a much more polished QB than Kaep and has faced better competition. From everything I've seen and read, Newton is also much more comfortable at this point taking snaps from under center than Kaep. I've heard Kaep is having some issues with it.

It'd be a good idea to sit either QB for a couple of years upon drafting them, but I think Newton would be much better early if pressed into playing than Kaep.

Considering the money Cam will be getting, I don't think you can sit him. With that in mind, do you keep Jimmy Clausen now as a backup or try to salvage a 5th rounder or so for him?
