That's totally fitting. I'm sure he'll stick it to us a few times too. But, in the end, we should all rejoice. Because the Cards just added a very, very bad baseball player to their team.

and they see him as a SS supposedly - lol

If Theriot is usable at any position it's at SS. He's fine as a backup middle infielder or maybe a well below average starting SS. Having him primarily at 2nd is a mistake as there are better players that can play that position.

They're going to start him over Ryan, or just get rid of Ryan.

It's a Festivus miracle.

damnit. he was my son's first ever favorite player. last year, he said the Dodgers would have to be his second favorite team. I think I'm just not going to tell him about the trade.

DeRosa: Cubs --> Indians --> Cardinals

Miles: Cubs -->A's/Reds --> Cardinals

Theriot: Cubs --> Dodgers --> Cardinals

lol, I don't think I really comprehend this. First DeRosa, then Miles and now Theriot. Do the Cardinals secretly covet our gritty white MI's? But they can't trade for them because we're rivals so they wait until we trade them to someone else and then make their move?

Now watch him go .320/.400/.380 next year (a touch better than 2008) and then Cubs will want him back to be the 2B and sign him to a 2 yr/9 mil contract cuz they'll think he's good again (just like they thought with Aaron Miles)...

you got Miles order wrong... Miles was a Cardinals before he went to the Cubs so they already had him before the Cubs... then he went back there after he was released or whatever... Yeah I can't explain Theriot or DeRosa though. Cardinals don't secretly covet only Cubs gritty white MI's, they covet ALL gritty white MI's...

While I am happy to hear this... he sadly is an upgrade to their current short stop situation, so any upgrade for the cardinals does not thrill me. Lets hope McGwire tries to make Theriot pull the bull therefore he can show off his warning track power and his lack of plate patience.

Thank God somebody finally said it.

I understand the Cardinals had him before, but they released him meaning they didn't want him anymore. So Miles signed with the Cubs has a historically pathetic season and somehow the Cardinals want him back.
