The Titans say there is no truth to a report that suggests Vince Young is no longer welcome at the team's training facility.

In a statement issued late Tuesday, the team said, "Tennessean reports indicating that Vince Young is not welcome at Baptist Sports Park are incorrect."

The Titans statement said Young was only told he didn't need to attend a team meeting and was "free to leave." Injured players aren't typically required to attend team meetings, the statement continued.

The Titans said Monday's meeting was to talk "about Young's situation and how the team would move forward"

This is pretty cool. NFL Network is going to re air the Jets/Bengals game on Friday using just the audio from 15 players/coaches who will be miked during the game. It would be awesome to do that live, but I think you'd need at least an hour delay for director/producer to have it make sense.

My dream is for NFL Sunday ticket to offer each broadcast with the radio announcers call rather than the network sound. I realize that will never happen for a number of reasons, but it'd be great to have local announcers to listen to.

There are secondary audio channels that mostly go unused. Might be nice to see radio teams broadcast on the secondary channel. I'm sure this has been thought of though, and for whatever reason it isn't done.

I think the main reason is promos. First off, radio broadcasts suck since they spend a good 30% of the time presenting you the subway 3rd down of the game followed by a Meineke sack and a KMart punt. At the same time, TV broadcasters promote shows coming up on Fox/CBS, and that is why they pay so much money for the rights to the games. If it were to be done, the networks would demand that customers pay a huge fee for the right, to discourage widespread distribution and offset potential ad decreases.

That sounds right. Although.......for the amount of money we fork out for NFLST, one would think it buys a little leeway on that type of thing.

The networks would rather everybody just watch the one game broadcasted in their area. They don't want you flipping channels.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Tennessee coach Jeff Fisher says though he had an assistant tell Vince Young not to attend a team meeting, the quarterback has not been banned from the team's headquarters.

"I went to look for Vince in the locker room prior to a team meeting, couldn't find him. I had one of my assistants inform Vince he was not welcome in the team meeting for obvious reasons,'' Fisher said Tuesday night on his weekly radio show. "I discussed the situation that happened the night before'' at the meeting.

Yeah...like I said, there's a ton of reasons it won't happen. But I would so much rather hear Joniak than Sam Rosen or Joe Buck.

Obviously. That's why we pay big bucks.....to override their wishes :)

Yeah, just saw that this morning. They apparently are letting him into the facility to rehab and work out (which they didn't let McNair do since he wasn't under contract), but won't let him into team meetings – or at least that one since they were specifically discussing Vince.

Either way, it's a mess.

Vince apparently sent a text to Fisher sometime in the past couple of days.

According to the report, Young’s text message thanked Fisher for the opportunity to play for the Titans, wished the team good luck for the rest of the season, asked for Fisher to have faith and confidence in him moving forward, and told Fisher that he and Young both want to win a Super Bowl.

My understanding is that, since he's under contract, the Titans can't completely ban him from headquarters; he has the right to access the training facilities to help in his rehabilitation.

Ah, didn't realize they couldn't ban him from the training facilities. It makes sense, but it never occurred to me.

I read it in an ESPN article yesterday. It mentioned that the main difference between Young's situation and McNair's is that since McNair wasn't under contract he didn't have a right to use the facilities, but since Young is under contract he does have that right. That's probably part of the CBA.

Interesting. I knew they kept McNair out because he didn't have a contract, but didn't realize they had to let Vince in because he did.

Fisher is making it as obvious as possible he wants nothing to do with Young:

"I'm not a real big text guy," Fisher said. "I'm not really into this new age stuff. I don't twit or tweet. But I think face-to-face is a man thing, OK?"

More problems for the Titans. Offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger has been diagnosed with cancer (the article didn't specify what type) and will undergo chemotherapy.

Wow. That's sad. I hope for a full and safe recovery. He's probably one of my top 3 favorite candidates to be the next Bears head coach.
